AFE/RP short shifter

http://www.axialflow.com/products.htm

I love it. The car is more fun to drive to me. There is some tranny noise let in through it, but it is not horrible and you will like the feel of the closer shifts.

yes go for the axial flow short shifter. some may not like it because the shifter is more stiff, but it makes it very notchy and exact so it will push into gear everytime.

there is really only one sts, it's the afe version. they based it off the mazdaspeed sts, but the mazdaspeed throws aren't as short, also the ms version costs more. so it's a no brainer.

I've grinded, but it was operator error

It does make it easier to get into gears than the stock shifter.

Swoope, I don't know why, but I found those to be SO easy, especially after all the fuss I hear about them. I just took a screwdriver that was very thin (length and height) and moved 1 of the little pieces inside out of the way, pops right off.

Install is cake. I can put one in or take one out of an 8 in under 15minutes using ONLY a phillips head screwdriver and 10mm socket. Unlike other cars, the 8's shifter drops right in without having to go under the car! You can do it all from the driver's seat. Cake, I tells you! And I'm not a mechanic...

Isn't afe and Mazdaspeed the only vendors that produce a short-throw shifter for the 8?
