rx-8 intake calibration code

ok i apologize if this is somewhere else. it has already been pointed out to me that my forum searching skills need improvement but i have looked. my rx-8 came with an aem intake, which had to be removed for inspection (wtf??). my best friend is a mazda technician and said that he would reflash the ecu in order to recognize the intake. he says he needs a calibration code and that it would come with the racing beat intake. can anyone help me out. once again if this is somewhere else in the forums i apologize, i looked so no need to be mean

calibration code?
I owned the Racing Beat intake for 4 years and now have the AEM. No calibration code is required or necessary. The pcm recognizes any intake as long as there is a functional MAF sensor.
Just reinstall your AEM intake after your inspection and don't worry about it, plenty of people here run it without any custom reflash on the ecu.

The AEM intake is 50 state smog legal. Not sure why it would need to even be removed for an sort of inspection. By any chance did this MAZDA TECH (very loose term, the oil change guy calls himself a tech too) mean the CARB EO number for smog purposes? Does not really matter at this point but that the only code or number I can think of.

me too- the dealership tech is an idiot- sorry i know he's your friend but for him to take it off and then suggest he could flash it with a "code" and then not explain it to you so you understand what he's talking about makes him and idiot.

actually thats harsh- for all we know it might be you. ask him to post here so he can explain to us what he means. maybe he knows what hes talking about and you just dont understand what he's saying.
