RX-8 Exhaust Systems?
I just recently purchased a 04' RX-8. I am wanting to put an exhaust system on it and I have NO idea the difference between GReddy, HKS, or Borla. They all look "good" but I havent been able to find any videos of the HKS or Borla exhaust (want to hear the sound). I found a GReddy video and it sounds nice but does anyone know of where to find some HKS or Borla clips? Or perhaps the difference in their tone?
Thanks
Thanks

I just put on the MazdaSpeed Dual Sport Exhaust and I love it. The sound is perfect...not ricey but definitely is noticed. Sounds like a racecar when I'm whipping around town.

I just had the Borla catback installed two days ago and I absolutely love it. I have a professional recording studio in my home and and trying to figure out a way to get the exhuast note(s) recorded outside. I will post audio clips after I get all that done as I wanted to provide something more realistic sounding than what a video camera can provide with it's small microphone.
Anyway, the Borla has such a nice, bassy tone with a hint of rumble. Most people say these aftermarket exhausts open up in the higher revs but I find the lower revs is where I hear the most difference---just as it starts to ramp up. It definitely provides "*****" but is not overbearing at all and not ridiculous sounding like the cheesy boyracers. My father had a corvette with a Borla kit on it and this RX-8 kit kind of reminds me of what a 4-cylinder borla'd corvette would sound like.
Definitely a worthwhile upgrade though if you have have nothing better to do with $700!

For the moment, it is sale only in Japan, and is a handmade article of 5 limitation.
Next production becomes autumn.

your car does it regardless of which exhaust you use. The stock catback muffles so much noise that many are not even aware of what the car is doing...
borla will let you hear all those noises, regardless of what cat you have on. I would assume most other exhaust systems will too, unless they have a lot of muffling.

Very true. Reving the car while not moving with a stock exhaust will yield a slight backfire/gurgle noise. Its just muffled very well. The mazdaspeed catback gurgles nicely.
