Define "work". With a big enough hammer anything will work.
It's ebay junk. You could get lucky, you could not. It will cause a check engine light and fail emissions if you have them.

Rotaries supposedly sound very horrible without a proper resonator. You will notice how sharp the rotary sounds compared to most piston engines. Now imagine that being much louder and even sharper.

When buying aftermarket exhaust components, especially cats and resonators, keep the high exhaust temperature this car can put out in mind. It will melt most of the cheap stuff.

Had a rattle somewhere which i couldn't pinpoint. Changed cat back exhaust and found chunks of grey stuff in exhaust. Presume ceramic from cat ? So would it be stuffed and best option ?

Yeah, it's bad.
Cheapest and fastest option is to gut it.
Don't drive it until you do, clogged cats will kill your engine, and you're lucky if it didn't do some damage already.
If you have to have a cat, there are no cheap options that last.

am going to make a single thread about this when all my rx8 fixes are done.

but a huge mention for borla and the million mile warranty.

my borla had ~ 130k miles on it. it failed on a drive home from pettit racing.. running motor out in second and third gear.

damn was it loud.

made a phone call. gave them the month and year of purchase, who i got it from, (out of business for years) and sent them a photo of failed muffler..

they had to build one for me. but got a box from them in about 3 weeks.

in this day and age i was surprised.

beers

I cannot decide. Do you think that Borla Magnaflow or Racing Beat is better? Thanks in advance.

Be an adult and pick one.

Just wanted to add something on this list and give a little bit of info. I recently bought the Racing Beat catless non resonated midpipe from RacingBeat.com(only place I could find it) for about $400. I also purchased the TurboXS catback exhaust ($1000)with the beautiful burnt tips. Knowing my dumb self, I didn't do research before hand as to if the midpipe and exhaust were compatible. The midpipe went on perfectly fine with no problems. However, the connection between the midpipe and exhaust just wasn't right. If you've ever seen the connection bolts from the stock exhaust you'll know what I'm talking about. The bolts on the exhaust were double threaded( there is a nut welded on the top side of the plate which the bolts thread into)with 2 rings to hold it in place. The Racing Beat midpipe didn't exactly fit the bolts from the exhaust, so I had to do some modifications and several trial and errors. In order for the midpipe and exhaust to fit, you need to sand down the ring that stops the plate from the midpipe from butting up to the end of the midpipe, so the bracket will fit over them, allowing the bracket to hold the midpipe in place. However, after putting it on and discovering a terrible leak at the connection point, I tried again. The bolts that connection everything were too long for where the midpipe bracket needed to be. The threads that the nuts went on were not long enough to hold everything in place. Essentially, I went to the hardware store and bought a huge nut to take up the rest of the space needed to secure it with no leaks. I hope this makes sense and I'll drop a picture below to help visualize what I'm talking about. BY THE WAY THIS MIDPIPE AND EXHAUST SOUND AMAZING TOGETHER(also shoots flames). It's a bit loud, but I don't mind because I love the way rotaries sound. Hope this was helpful.
