RP Supercat Midpipe

Does anyone have this mid pipe? Is the no CEL true or a fallacy?

you need to learn to use our Search feature on the forum.
the simple answer to your question is: No, you will not get a CEL.
however, I suggest you read up on this product as there's a lot of good info on it out there.

Thanks, this is my first forum so im still getting the hang of it. seems i never get any relative results when i try to search i through dozens of pages and it never quite covers what im looking for
I just couldn't understand why if this mid pipe doesn't through a CEL then why isn't it more popular?I hate my P0420 that came with my exotic speed pipe and it seems thats what mostly everyone gets except for this pipe. Didn't know if there where any drawbacks i was unable to find that would explain its low popularity.
Thanks

I have no CEL with no cat. It's all just luck of the draw sometimes.

welcome to the club.
I'll give you a little advice on the search feature, click on it towards the top and always use the advanced search.
The reason for that is you can enter the keyword and below, ask the forum to only search thread TITLES as opposed to scanning every post and giving you a million unrelated threads.
Oh, and it is usually helpful to click on 'shot results as threads'

as for the RP, it's a good replacement if you're looking for something quick, relatively inexpensive, and do not feel like dealing with a CEL.
The downside is, they're not as reliable as some of us would like. I personally have been through a few of them (2 or 3, I forget).
The RP supercat actually has a catalytic converter in there, does your Exoticspeed have one or is it just a midpipe?

Exoticspeed has a resonator but no honeycomb structure, essentially making it just a straight pip. I went with there full 3" kit header, midepipe and catback. It came with a spacer for the midepipe which threw a bank 1 sensor slow response code, without the spacer I through a sensor below threshold code. Either way a CEL. I love the throaty exhaust note ecspecially in the revs above 4.5K you can hear the two extra intake ports open. I imagine the tone will change dramatically with the supercat so I'm in between changing it out. Plus I'm going with the Esmeril turbo kit over the winter an I imagine when I get it tuned they can disable the CEL's anyways

Esmeril?
ummm... you might want to do a few more searches first.

If you are going with a turbo (in the very near future), there's no sense in getting the RP supercat as it will NOT be able to handle the exhaust temps of a turbo'd car and you'll quickly destroy the honeycomb element.
if you're staying NA for a while, why not just have a cat welded into your existing pipe?
do a google search for the davesport cat.
it's JUST the cat, no pipe included and can be welded into an existing exhaust setup. (it's what I ultimately went with after blowing out a few RP's. I had the RP honeycomb cut off and this welded in.

Yeah, I've done a lot of research on the Esmeril kit a lot of review all over the board :-/, I was initially going with Pettit but they discontinued there old kit and I don't want to be a test subject for there new one, and I see there have been as many happy customers as unhappy I'm still researching but it seems to be one of the only options available that will get me to my goals.

No CEL on mine. Over 15k miles on it.

To be fair I had one on another 8 a few years ago and got a CEL after 10k miles. But so far my current one is great.
