Target price is $600.

Sorry about the link. Here is the correct one.

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/rx8exhaust.html

The camera I use is a digital cam that can takes video so the sound clip isn't really the true presentation. The exhaust tone is much deeper in real life. We will use a better one to take some video later on before it's ready for sale.

what size is the piping on that one and how much does it weight? This definatly my favorite exhaust so far, and looks perfect for anyone thinking of keeping the same exhaust when they go Forced Induction.

The prototype was made in the US. The mufflers are the same as the ones on the beta. After we made the prototype, we sent it to Japan. Beta is the pre-production sample from the Japanese factory. After we test it and then we can finalize the production. cool?

We will try 2.5", 2.75", and 3" to see which one makes the most power and then we will finalize the production.

I will weigh it after the hoildays.

One of the nicest exhaust for the 8 so far.

ps Since the tips are the only expose part of the exhaust, wondering if you do have a close up pix of the tips?

Sorry, I don't have a nice pic of the tip right now. The only one I have is this.

The tip style can be changed. That's what this Beta tester is for so we can modify the minor stuff before we send it in for final production.

BTW, due to our unique v shape design, the tips won't be the only thing showing. You can see the canisters if you stand about 15 ft from the back of the car.

This exhaust is in serious contention for my RX-8. I would love to see some pics once installed.

Hows the clearance for aftermarket sways more specifically Racing Beats rear sway.

The bends are very gradual on this exhaust which is good just wondering on how this will affect future mods or if it even will.

Thanks for the response.

Very, very nice Chuck.

How about 3-4 inch rotary-shaped tips as an option, Chuck?

(I've requested this from a different mfr more than once and never heard back.)

Chuck, this is exactly what we're looking for:

God please no! I think stock the car goes quite far enough with the rotary theme. Enough is enough!

Just my opinion of course!

I would agree that the three rotary accents in the schopped picture that I borrowed is a bit much. My solution is to not have the center accent. I've gone back and edited the photo in my original post. Now if anyone thinks that the license frame shows "too much chrome" or whatever, please note that this can be taken out as well (alternatively, you can note that this is not your car).

The marketplace will determine whether or not rotary-shaped exhaust tips are a hot item. My prediction is that an exhaust system mfr can carve a huge niche by going with rotary-shaped tips. For each person who may not be into them, there may be a hundred who love them.

And if I have to wait too long for someone to come through with offering what we want, then maybe I'll just make them myself. But I'm confident that someone will fill this market. What a striking way to set your product apart from the crowd. And I expect that Chuck has a more passionate connection to rotary symbolism than most of the others do.

Whoever is the first to come out with these exhaust tips, I'm all over it. And for those who agree that it looks hot, just wait til I take the photo of flames shooting out!

You will not have any problem fitting aftermarket sway bars. Sharp bends make you lose exhaust velocity. That's why we use gradual bends with minimum bending angle. There isn't any adverse effect, only good ones.

That's a very interesting idea but I don't know if it's possible to do so. We might have to use some generic ones to reduce cost. I don't know how much it's going to cost to make a tip like that. I don't know if it can fit there either. I will look into it though.

It might be important to remember the multitudes of RX-8 owners who are gladly shelling out ~$100 just for the center accent.

Whichever way you decide to go on the tips, thanks for your efforts. I'm eager to see your dyno.

Hey Chuck;

Is your exhaust system compliant with California's 95dB max output rating or is intended for off-road use only?

Very nice work Chuck. If this pushed more HP than the Borla and you are priced around it, you got yourself a winner. Please post up the dyno sheet when it's ready. Thanks!

It's pretty quiet at idle and cruising. I don't have the equipment to measure the sound level so I don't know if it will be more than 95 dB or not. Doesn't sound like it though.

Let's just say it's not loud enough to attract attention from the cops.

photo of exhaust on the car

You can see the V-shape canisters if you stand 15-20 ft away from the car. More photos coming soon.
