Try also searching for "TSI" . I think it was mentioned on threads here that its the same unit

guitarjunkie28 04-07-2005 11:57 PM

i found it on google, but the link wouldn't work.

Gomez 04-08-2005 04:25 AM

PM Hymee. I believe he has a contact.

smrx8 04-08-2005 09:14 AM

i have one and i might be selling it . i bought it from a friend

guitarjunkie28 04-08-2005 10:56 AM

can you give me any info on it? all i've heard is that it exists, but i don't know any of the particulars.
thanks

smrx8 04-08-2005 10:58 AM

What kind of information u need ???

guitarjunkie28 04-08-2005 12:52 PM

what is it capable of?
and all the general info because i don't know shit about it.

smrx8 04-08-2005 01:07 PM

ok ill be home in a little while ill read through the manual .also i believe hymee has one installed in his car . and you can get a harness so you dont cut into your car ecu wires.

smrx8 04-08-2005 03:56 PM

From reading the manual you can adjust timing, fuel, has nos mode, adjust injecters by one not sure what they mean.if i find anything else i post it up.

The ric shaw ECU is more correctly a "TSI" ecu. They have since gone out of business, but Hymee is still in contact with one of the former partners.

smrx8 04-08-2005 04:34 PM

yeah hymee!!!!!! give us the the information i heard you got it installed in your car

Hymee 04-12-2005 07:02 AM

I am in contact with the maker of these units. Ric Shaw does not make them, and the maker told me he only ever sold 3 to Ric.

I am still planning on using this unit with the S/C.

I can't put you into contact with the man himself, as he will only deal with a distrubution network. Which could very well end up being me :)

Cheers,
Hymee.

smrx8 04-12-2005 07:09 AM

hymee does this unit have a on /off switch i know theres a program that says it for nitrous could you get any more info ????

takahashi 04-12-2005 07:48 AM

So will it later be known as Hymee Enhanced Unit?? :p

It will be great. I want to be able to tune it myself... well to some extent :p

Hymee 04-12-2005 03:53 PM

It does not have an on/off switch per se, but it is a simple matter (10 second job) to bypass the unit by unplugging it and connecting a bypass circuit to the harness.

I'll check up about the Nitrous...

Cheers,
Hymee.

We have a stateside source for these units, if you need one we can get you one :)

guitarjunkie28 04-13-2005 12:20 AM

cool.
i've heard it mentioned, but what are its limitations?

is it just a piggy back that will allow you to add or subtract fuel and timing up to a percent, or can you build a fuel map from scratch?

No, that would take less than 10 seconds ;)

Unless you rigged up a hi-density switching gang...

What you do is unlpug the harness from the piggy back, and plug a blanking "plug" into the end of the piggy back cable, that hooks into the wiring loom. We made a loom for the RX8 so it plugs in without cutting any wires.

Unles Rad has updated his design for newer models, there is no switch per-se.

I should post some pics.

Cheers,
Hymee.
