Rb dual resonated vs ap dual resonated?

Have an 05 rx8 with a racing beat catback. Looking for a dual resonated pipe. Which of the two would be less loud, the racing beat or the agency power dual resonated pipe? Anyone have dynos for each?

Were do you launch your at from with your new level ten transmission by the way? What was the net cost on that?. Hp gains from a rb pipe any guesses?

I had both and when I had it, the Agency Power is A LOT louder and feels less restricted, whereas, the Racing Beat (what I currently have) is a lot quieter except for when it gets to a certain temperature, thats when it starts to sound mean and less restricted.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

when you say less restricted do you mean by sound or by power out put. how much of a difference in power did you feel if any? nd how much power difference vs stock cat. estimate?

I run the AP midpipe and it feels like it starts to breath more above 4K RPM (butt dyno). Never had it put on a real dyno but I'd say a 5-10 rwhp gain. You'll notice a difference but its nothing major. The AP has good quality but you'll have to buy new bolts for it from a hardware store (think I spent about $6 on mine?). Not sure if the RB is the same.

For quality of sound I've heard the RB is better. My AP does get a little raspy in the mid-range but I prefer it that way and its nothing ridiculous. I've also heard the AP gives a little more horsepower but again the gains are already so small you wouldn't notice. You can't go wrong with either pipe.

Restricted as a Power Output. The AP feels like it helped with my acceleration a lot more and the RPMs would go up faster.

The RB for me is a little less, but when the pipe is at a high temperature, its a whole different story... It sounds louder and also my car is slightly faster.

None of these is major difference but for somebody who uses their RX8 as a daily driver, you can feel it...

And what RedRex said, quality and sound, go with RB.

Now back to OP, really depends on what you want? Sound, performance, quality?

Without any dyno charts your comparison between the Agency Power and Racing Beat Pipe there is no way to tell which pipe is the less restrictive. After reading your post it seems to me the louder the pipe the less restricted you believe the pipe is. The butt dyno is not creditable.

Alright then, try googling it. Im sure there are lots of people who have dyno'd their rx8 with either one of these pipes. No need to be an ***. Thanks!

Not trying to be an ***, just pointing out that you have no data backing your opinion. The OP do a search on youtube.

I have the AP paired with a HKS Hi-power exhaust, and I love it. The combo is loud as hell, tho. Having never used the RB I can't compare, but they are both made by quality companies so I would assume the performance is similar, just get which ever one you think sounds better.

I had the Agency Power and now I have the RB.

The Agency Power is raspy as hell. I used to think it was only from 4-5k, but no. The rasp is there from 4k-redline. Loud as hell and drones pretty good.

The RB is much quieter and gives off a MUCH better exhaust tone IMO.

You are 100% right about this, the AP is for sure raspy the whole way, just the way I like. So like I said OP figure out which one sounds the best to you, try to youtube the same set-up you have, i.e. AP w/ stock exhaust, etc. As the power gains will all be minimal and about the same. Just my .02 cents.

i switched from Agency power to Racing Beat, it was hands down an upgrade in terms of quality and sound. the power difference between the two, if any, would be nominal. some people have been known to blow the packing on the Agency Power resonators after a while due to our high EGT's

i have greddy sp2 and agency power midpipe and i personally love the sound. Its raspy in the 4 to 5k as stated above when its cold, but once it warms up the rasp seems to go away.

I have had mine on for 2 years at least and have not had any problems with packing blowing out. I believe i drive it hard enough to keep the EGT's up there.

I have had nothing but good comments on all age groups from people, kinda funny when the older people say "wow i like the way your car sounds, nice job!"

Is the Racing Beat midpipe packed, or is it just resonance chambers?

The resonators are packed. I run the racing beat midpipe and exhaust combo. Sounds awesome. It has a really good deep tone, shoots some good flames, and isn't raspy at all. Since the resonators do use packing, I have noticed that the car has gotten louder over time. It's still very quiet cruising and at idle, but when you open the throttle it's a bit louder than it used to be. Even with it getting a little louder, it's still way quieter than my friends car with a stock midpipe and hks hi-power exhaust.

At part throttle around 3k rpm the car does make something like a whistling sound. I wonder if that's what's happening.
