i had a k&n on my civic, it was loud and ugly sounding. will this'n sound good?

I'd rather save my money and buy the turbo I know there are a few more items that need to be added to the kit so it runs at it's best but still 300.00 for 4hp is a little steep.
Different concept. Some people want to stay NA vs. going turbo. Also, you have to incoporate the fact that a turbo will cost about $800-$1200 to install vs. some of the other stuff (air intake, mid pipe, & exhaust) can literally be done in your garage, and/or an hour at a muffler shop. There are people that can save $300 for the air intake, while $3000 can be kind've steep for some people, not to mention if you want to spend 10% of the car's value in aftermarket parts. OR the fact that the turbo will void the warranty, & if you blow the engine, it would be a bear of a time to pull the turbo off the engine & put the other stuff back on.

And I'm coming from someone that has a turbo. There are a lot of extra costs associated with a turbo. Unless you have $5000-$6000 to spend, don't think about it.

If you think about it from a pure $ point of view the exhaust only gives 3 hp for $600 ($200 per hp) :D . But of course we know it is more for sound & looks.

Matt over at www.mazdaparts.com just said that he has 15 units coming in. IF he can get more than 10 he can do a group buy.

His group buy has nothing to do with this one. You must order it from him. www.mazdaparts.com. He had 14 as of yesterday morning. This particular group buy never happened. Should go to RX8 Store or Mazdaparts to get your units.

Isn't it amazing that people are still trying to sign up to something that's long dead?

maybe if they said, you have to give your first born child, it would stop.

Hey it's cool to sign up for something that's dead.

But just posting:

THE GROUP BUY ON THIS THREAD HAS DIED.

WILL NEVER WORK.

Whatch somebody post with their info just like the last person.

It's only bits, bytes, bauds, and 1's and 0's.

I just installed my REVi intake a few weeks ago. I'm now on my 3rd tank of gas and have seen no real fuel effieciency. Should I see some efficiency? I'm getting about 18.5mpg while driving modestly - not a grandma but not a racer either - daily commutes to the office at 65 - 70. Does the fuel/air mix need to be adjusted at all to realize the efficiency? Thanks, Aric.

Nope, Racing Beat makes no claims of improved MPG on thier site LINK
" Designed to offer performance improvements without sacrificing drivability"
One would think if it help even a little they would say so. So don't feel your missing out on something. Also you would need something like a CanZoomer to make changes to the air/fuel mix and the skill to know what to set it to.

Hilarious...

This thread is like the Energizer Bunny... still going... and going...

Soon enough, it'll be listed in the Guinness Book for setting the record of the longest dead group buy in history

Maybe I missed something or don't understand the group buy concept, but the proposed offer before getting shot down by RB was $280 per intake. Doesn't RX-8 Store have them listed on their site at $289 per intake already? A $9 discount is kind of trivial.
