It should, they are just leaning it out a little. RB will tell you if their work passes smog or not.

So a stock rx8 should see around a 20hp increase?

it will probably be a little less for just OE, you really need the intake and exhaust to maximize it. Not sure if those numbers are corrected or what, I've never seen an OE setup pull that high on a dyno but the actual numbers are irrelevant, it's the trend that counts

the flash seems pretty pointless. Every car is different, and most of us have different setups. Racing beat usually simplies their products to appeal to the masses. Like when they designed the intake considering they didnt want it to be "too loud." Meh, i guess i just dont fall in their "average" target market. I'm ok with having a loud car.. as long as the noise is a side effect of more power.

If you could drive in and they could flash/tune your car... that would be worthwhile, but other than that... i can't see the benefit in spending the money.

btw, i might be mistaken, but hasnt RE had a PCM flash out for over a year now?

just looked at the dyno chart...

so for the RB Flash + Intake + Exhaust you get 15hp out the crank (so probably 10 at the wheels). At $1266 + Price of Intake Duct <-- not worth it.

I'd bet most people dont and wont have more then just a intake, exhaust and maybe pulley on this car. I dont see it as pointless, infact RB would probably sell more this way.

After all this is cheaper then an intake and can put out HP unlike most intakes.

using 15% drivetrain losses this is what I come up with for theoretical flywheel on mine, as much as I hate theoretical BS so take it with a bucket of salt ...

Well... I made an appointment with them on Monday, the 27th, I will have the RB exhaust and have the K&Nv2 intake. I'll let everybody know how it feels that night. I have a chance to test it out on the 5 freeway to San Francisco. A nice 6 hour drive to test the buttdyno.

So $300 for maybe 10hp, I have the RB exhaust, and why would they even release a flash that only has that little gain?

You got a point there. Seems like the flash would be $600 and the muffler $300.

unfortunately stainless steel and it's fabrication costs more than some programming time and a few electrons

Mark,
I wasn't laughing at you. I was laughing at how much more you are making then the RB combo - while still staying N/A - its very impressive.
