a quesion from a newbie :D

hey guys, this is my first post!
iv recently bought myself an 04 rx8 and i love it. 6 speed, sunroof, leather, everythin i wanted. but im not exactly an expert when it comes to rotary's, or cars in general (i do know a bit though). just wondering what you guys would advice to start with for upgrades? i know an intake or exhaust is a practical option, and i havent really heard anything bad about them. you could also turbo, but from what iv seen u need anywhere from 4-6 G's for one of them. iv heard a bit about chipping them, but im not really sure what that requires. im open to any options, just thought id see what the best/most advised thing(s) to start with are. Thanks alot its really appreciated! :D

I would probably start with the maintenance first, Ignition Coils, spark plugs and spark plug wires, unless you have documents, when you bought the car, that they have been changed lately (depends on how many miles the car has of course). Then move to the upgrades that you want, because what good is a car that is not running with upgrades due to negligence of the maintenance...

Go Turbo!
Its obvious your skill sets are more than enough to do that simple upgrade.

I wouldn't do exhaust or intake unless its purely for look or sound....
But if your really want them and you are on a budget and looking for some HP gains from these mods:

Intake = K&N drop in panel filter

Midpipe = Any will do.... keep your OEM cat if you need to pass an E-Test later

Muffler = IMO only sound and looks here. Prolly best to buy a used first. I got my RB Cat back this way...... and I'm sooooo glad I did .... what a ******* rip off if you purchase brand new ... again ... IMO

Best bang for the buck mod I did ...... Zex Nitrous kit .... boooya
