so, official guestimation calculations here....

13 gallon tank

4.48 oz 2 stroke oil through the metering pump per 13 gallons.

Rough estimates

133:1 = 4.48oz(4stroke) + 8oz (2stroke)
100:1 = 4.48oz(4stroke) + 12oz (2stroke)

Also, have you heard the saying "A Redline a day keeps the mechanic away"? I hear it tends to clear out those carbon deposits, and makes for a fun drive.

How to Premix ?

Will any 2 cycle oil be ok? Any exceptions? And how you do it just fill gas tank half way, and directly dump 150ml 2cycles into the tank(from where has Is being filled, without any special tools) and fill up full after? Then that's it? But where the 'mix' part?

For fill ups, I buy the 8oz bottles of smokeless at walmart by the case. I have about a 3 month supply at any given time just for convienience. I have a small plastic bin containing a funnel and my 2 stroke oil.

I avoid filling unless im under 1/4 tank to keep the measurements close to being accurate.

I just dump it in the filler tube with the funnel, and use the gas pump as a mixer in the tank. otherwise just driving will mix it up too.

I also avoid filling with the engine running due to the fuel pump being on the bottom og the tank and Is rather not have my fuel pump suck up a nice amount of just 2 stroke.

Make sure you use smokeless for less residue and less carbon deposits in the ports and the cat.

I agree it is in my mind cat vs premix. In my rx8 i had this debaate 65,000 miles ago and went with stock omp and premix approx 1/2 oz per gallon to the light side and its still running beautiful just the normal plugs and coil pacs. You must research a lot and make a decission based on what you know.Opinions are great lot of knowledge here.

thats why we have rebuild kits lol. I like the comment about the ignition system that makes sense. I will premix until it quits then tear it down and maybe take some pics and post until then ummmmm.

I know I’m pretty late to this but I am thinking of putting a midpipe in mine without a cat but can barely find any midpipes without a cat. Any suggestions on a brand or some name I should look for? I want to go no cat like you said so I can safely premix.

Just knock the ceramic out of an already 'dead' cat....
Should be easy to find, and there's no better fit!

find it hard to believe more have cats than not, it was always the opposite in my experience

Racing Beat never had a cat in their midpipe, BHR offers both (or did) but non cat was way more popular, Magnaflow has a cat but most don’t

sounds more like, noob … but might depend on what part of the world you reside in.

You can find premix online, literally, you can go on amazon and look up "Rotary premix" and you will probably find good brands the most well-known is Idemitsu but some will say you don't need to get that expensive a premix. Up to you.
