Pettit S/C

I was wondering what are you guys getting for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times with your stage 2 or stage 2 cs s/c?

I have been looking at getting rid of my rx8 due to not many performance upgrades to make me significantly faster for around 5-6 k. now i see pettit has a good s/c out i was just wondering what some times were?

im sure its posted somewhere on the site but i dont feel like searching through 10k posts.

Thanks guys for any help

only an estimate--but with the kit tuned and a good start 0-60 was estimated (on street tires) in the mid 4's ? 1/4 mile-- it is definitly with proper tires and start a mid to low 13 sec car. with total 1/4 set up a definite low 13 sec car easy.
thats my guess but i dont strip this car it aint made for it.

low 5's guaranteed. for example the car will now break the rear tires loose during a rolling start and clutch fully engaged -with nothing but throttle. On a cold morning it will also do it a little in 2nd! Stock tires of course.

rx8 isnt meant for racing, i'd get rid of the car. buy a car with 300hp+ hp and go f/i. going f/i on rx8 is a waste of money. hence the gas mileage as it is on stock, what will it be on f/i? porsche 911 twin turbo with 450hp has better gas mileage than the stock rx8.

for around 6k you can get yourself around 325whp. what is that.. like 375 at the flywheel?

wouldnt that push the rx8 into the 12s? i dont know much about drag racing..

theres alot of choices for fi now. Esmeril, Mazsport, Pettit, and Greddy seems to be the top choices. If your looking into the Pettit S/C, then i say wait for the stage 3 s/c to come out.

With the Pettit Stage 2 you can have 300+whp right now for 6k, so why wait??

The MM greddy turbo upgrade kit will be capable of 300+whp for $5600, and be capable of 400+ in the future with the proper supporting systems upgrades.

and if you want quick times at the strip there are other things that you can do. We now have methenol, various FI applications, a stand alone, lower diff gears, more body bracing, and a good ole shot of nitrous!
I was conservative on my times. My times are est with the regular suspenion etc

thanks for the info guys. i think i might just sway to monster maniac new setup for the greddy kit sounds like the way i might want to go more torque and more potential h/p for a lil less money.

I think that will be a wise choice, especially considering anytime you need customer support all you have to do is come to this website.

The joy of owning a sport car is not only limited to the speed. But also include the joy of the process of upgrading it towards the car body limitation. No point to buy a 400-800hp monster back home and can't mod it due to the original power already makes your legs shake during accelerating.

13.2? with street tires? No up front skinnies and cheaters? No short back tire? no weight reduction? Fresh plugs? Stock clutch? right kind of shocks? ( i have many others) If that was a drive on pass (13.2) dude then you definitely have a 12 sec car with a little tweaking.
Congrats! next time turn the Ipod off and get you butt off the line

Seriously, when I get my nitrous back on-line we should shoot vid of a side-by-side. That would be fun.
No I was waiting for a hot chick from MM's avatars to come and drop a pair of panties. Next thing I know I was playing catch up cause the other guy went on some little green light.
