So I was playing around with my new gtimer today, decided to do a few 0-60 runs and see how I do...out of about 5 runs the best I got was a 6.97 and no matter what I did I couldn't not repeat that time, my next lowest was 7.2x up to 8.2x...I couldn't figure out how to get sub 7's again...I don't know what I did....all my runs were either clutch drops at 3k or below (all had wheel hop) and one run where I feathered the clutch...which was actually one of my better ones at 7.5. I even decided to see my speed at 1/4 (in a safe place, ofcourse )...and I only got 88mph! I mean...I probably coulda gotten 90, but definetly not 95ish.

So I don't get it...is this car really that slow?? I mean...I know people have gotten 5.9 with a 7k drop...but you'd figure you could do sub 7's fairly easily with a normal launch without killing the trans or clutch. I can't be that bad of a driver...you get to 60 right after hitting 2nd gear so it's not like I have that much room to mess up on.

I know everybody is gonna say "this is not a 0-60 car it shines in the twisties!" I know that...but c'mon, struggling to get sub 7 numbers is pathetic. This really motivated me to get some performance mods....flywheel or cz, which would be better for that 0-60 times?

Oh yea...I had traction control and all that good stuff turned off...

The ECU is learning. Perhaps it is retarding the timing and cutting the fuel. That's my bet. The other thing is all cars loose power as they get hotter.

just got one also for my bday. got the gtimer 2. my best run out of five without reading the anything but the quick start was 6.6 to 60 and this is with new kumhuo tires and moist fla road. dsc and trac control off.

of the two runs i made to 1/4 mile 15.9 was the fastest, but that was with dsc and tc on... and you could feel the bog. very cool tool. i think with the right temp and dry conditions i could get into the low 6's 0to 60.

i cant wait to figure out the braking.

the RR model you're thinking of is from g-tech...gtimer is a different one although it does the same thing. Actually the GT2 DOES have memory, you need to buy a cable to plug into your PC.

how are you launching your car to get into mid 6's? Your tires definetly help...but I thought I'd be able to break 7's alot easier then that. I'll try resetting the ECU tonight and try it again. Is pressing the break 20 times good enough or do I have to unplug the battery?

I just posted this in the NE forum but I figure it belongs here so...mods feel free to delete the NE one if you like.

I just talked to the mechanic my gf always goes to and asked him how much he'd charge to install a flywheel...he said I would probably need a pulley and maybe a new clutch assembly also. I'm pretty sure I won't need the new clutch assembly...but I don't know anything about the pulley? Is he right or is he just talking out of his ***? How much are pulleys if he is right?

a) C&D tested all these testing devices and found the GTimer to be about the worst

b) I'm guessing your trying to do this in the heat of summer and not letting your car cool down enough between runs

traction control and dsc off. rev to ~ 5.5k let clutch out medium fast dont just dump it or you will get wheelspin or hop. you do not have to unplug the bat. it also help to have a rp short throw shifter.

if you are asking me. no not in the heat of summer. fri night at ~3am temp was about 74 deg. high humidty hence the moist road.

as to the c&d review if you can find a link i would love to read it.

this is a toy. i think is going to be useful comparing mods with it. the delta is the key.
