Question O2 Sensor Simulator for Catless Pipe

Has anyone had any luck getting rid of the CEL? If so how you do it? Here are a few options I'm considering:

http://o2sim.com/

Ebay O2 Sim

Thanks...

I emailed the guy at o2 sim. He said he'd refund the money if it doesnt work on a rx8.
He explained people only tell him when it doesnt work, and that he hasn't had anyone complian it doesnt work on a rx8. That could be because noone has tested 1 yet or maybe it works. It's worth a shot, how many people refund money on electronics.

Luckily I haven't gotten a CEL yet... so far so good...

Funny thing do, it did throw a CEL on a recent trip to NC (Tail of the Dragon) but after a day of driving back at home it went away...

nope, couple of bolts some wd40 and you are pretty much set... it was pretty straight forward... I was probably more time consuming to get the car on jacks inside my garage then the actual install..

let me know how it turns out..

I'm not gonna mess with the cat till my recall is done. After that I might give it a shot.
My friend can make me a mid pipe for like 20$ or less so i'm gonna give it a shot.

i have a cat delete pipe.......n the only reason my cel comes on is becuz it misfires....i think ive come to the conclusion it only misfires at high rpms, or when i go WOT......so im thinkin since i have a system in my car......either the battery just doesnt have the juice to keep up........or one or both of my secondary coils r goin bad....

I got the 1/2" O2 spacer from GTAW and have had no cell for about 8000 miles now until recall flash which triggered it for 2 days and now is gone again. Highly recommended. There is a thread in one of the tech forums about it. Cost me like 20 bucks.

Codes.....

Codes recorded in the computer is different from CEL light being "on".

The code WILL be set in the computer, the light will be on for a set # of drive cycles, then it will go out, because you know about it, and to make room for new, more important, alerts.

The code will still be in the memory, and THAT will automatically fail an emissions check.

If they don't check the computer, you may sail thru.

I still don't understand, you couldn't pass emissions even if your "check engine" light was off... Are you guys just trying to remove the "check engine" light for that reason?

Or could our "lawn mower" smelling engines actually pass emissions if we removed this "check engine" light?

Cause to me it doesn't make any sense if they were reading it to ignore that smell...

Just blame it on spilling some gas when you filled up.

I got a cel a couple of weeks after I installed the RB Midpipe but it went away and has never come back. It has been over 3 months, so far so good... I've taken the car in for service and they have never bothered me about it...

I got the CEL after installing the TurboXS complete exhaust system and have had no luck getting rid of it. I have tried both the eBay O2 adaptor and this one- http://www.turborenesis.com/SSbushing.html with no success. I have ordered the sCANalyser which I will use to establish the cause of the CEL., just in case it is something other than the O2 sensor and CAT delete pipe.
Has anybody tried the other O2 sensor simulator as mentioned in the 1st post?
