I'm thinking about ordering the AP exhaust and I see it comes with a catless pipe but no way of making sure a mil or cel will not illuminate. I've done some searching but cannot find any information. Does anyone have any info on o2 cheaters available for the 8, they may be called mil eliminators as well. Thank you.

That part has not been shown to work in RX-8.

 

Expo is right, that sim won't work. (but if you'd still like to try, you can buy mine, cheap!)

The problem is that the '8 can test the secondary O2 sensor - it sends waves of rich/lean mixture and examines the sensor's output; if they don't match, bingo. So no simulator can react like that.

I just noticed it on RP site and didn't know any thing about it. Wasn't sure if it worked or not... Guess not.

Thats what I kinda figured. There has to be away though. I know some of the newer vehicles at Nissan are getting rid of the first O2 sensor and begining to use an AF sensor because it can respond in smaller changes. But to monitor the Cat's efficiantcy the secondary O2 should just read a flat line voltage if the cat was working at its optimal performance. The only time the computer would recognize a fault is when the rear O2 mimics the first, implying the cats ability to absord O2 has been depleated. I wonder if there's a way install a resistor to lower signal output to resemble a good voltage reading that doesn't mimic the first O2 sensors signal?
