new intake time!! which one hmm..

hihi there, been searching around for which intakes that look good and apparently wont cause rough idles, currently I have the k&n ver 1 which causes rough idles and sometimes even stalls. Was wondering which intake I shoulod switch to, to ensure no rough idles and stalls while retaining that loud intake sound, which i find really cool haha, hope u guys can help, thanks =)

Stock, AEM, RB+ duct. Since you already have the typhoon 1 you are probably missing the little accordian piece. If you get that peice you could go RB or Stock. You could also go AEM so you don't have to get the accordian piece.

I like my Mazdaspeed (same as AEM) CAI. It is almost undetectable at idle and light throttle, but very loud at WOT. I haven't really had any trouble with the idle or stalling, and I only used one of the two airflow screens that they sent with it.

I installed the HKS Racing Suction Intake last week.It sounds nice and no problems.
Don`t expect any noticable power improvement btw...

The MS CAI comes with a sock to put over the filter, eliminates any issues with water.

This is what I found on one of the ebay's auction :

AEM Cold Air Intake System - 2004 and 2005 Mazda RX8. This AEM Induction systems utilize aluminum piping from the throttle body and drops their cone filter with velocity stack down in the fender/bumper of the vehicle. This separates the filter from the hot engine compartment. The result is your intake system drawing cold air away from the hot air present in the engine compartment. Horsepower gains can be seen by as much as 15 HP's! This is accomplished by gaining 1 HP for each 10F reduced. Complete with everything including all clamps, instructons, manual and hardware guaranteed as you can see in pic. This Intake was on car for less than 4 months and is in almost like new condition. Selling due car being sold
LOL !!!

What I wonder is Im interested in the AEM and I know its the same as the MS. Do you think if you had any issues with your motor that the dealer would be less likely to void you warranty if you had the MS intake?

Racing Beat intake with Racing beat Air duct. Looks nice and stealth and works GREAT. (closed box = no sucking in HOT engine bay air)

Here's my buddy installing the air duct
