Sadly no. I bought an additional coil and planned to swap them one at a time but the tuner basically told me that we were at the limit of what he could do with Cobb. I wasnt too keen on spending $1500 for an adaptonic just to solve a misfire, so I kind of gave up. Not proud of it. Hopefully the BHR and a Brettspeed tune will bring better results

Well having never heard of anyone else having that issue it might be relevant to point out that you also converted an early 4-port automatic over to a 6-speed manual. Whether or not this is somehow contributing to the situation is unknown, but it seems like it should be on the plate for possible evaluation and reference given the uniqueness of both situations.

I haven't used the BHR coils or the sakebomb garage kit - but I made my own ignition upgrade with the Rywire ignition sub harness with IGN-1A coils - Why I went this route is because its worked very well for my customers and I helped design it :P The IGN-1A coils use a large amount of amps and its important to use a relay per rotor and the grounds from each batch of coils go to their associated rotor. Point I am getting at is that the IGN-1A coils do work very well when properly installed. As for the BHR I look forward to trying them out at some point since who does not like a simple plug n play solution.

Cheers,

Interesting, I have my own d585 coil kit I built long before any harnesses or anything were even able to be bought. May look into the IGN-1A.

Yeah, we can get into some real forum history here. Fortunately after somebody got mad and took their ball home with them about 1/2 of the really ridiculous comments were deleted from the thread:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tec...-coils-221536/

Which towards the end of the thread for how to DYI the the harness and such if you want to go that route. I’m all for anybody doing it on their own or buying any kit they prefer. Different strokes for different folks, but nothing annoys me more than the social justice mob riding into town and trying to get a neck tie posse going on anyone not swimming in the same direction as they are.

I linked the SakeBomb thread above, and imbedded in there was TeamRX8's IGN1A discussion thread that he posted in 2011.
