what bolt are you talking about? There are the two spring bolts securing the pipe to the cat pipe- that's it. The rest are hangers. The two spring bolts are torqued on really tight- you need to hulk out on them.

after doing this a couple times I found an extremely easy way to do it. Just take a flat head screw driver, stick it in between the bushing and the hanger and open pry it open a little, then take some wd40 and spray it into the opening, by the time you do it to all of them the first few can come off with just using your hands.

yeah, but dont use wd40 unless you want to dissolve your rubber hangers.

never use wd40 on anything rubber or plastic

soap works better... but wd 40 does nothing to rubber or plastic.. we used to use it to clean sailboards... it is just not a good lubricant.

beers

I first started with a flat head screw driver to get the grommets off (which was a MAJOR pain), but then I tried basic dish soap and it came off with little effort.

the oil sure does stink up the area around your car for a while when the new exhaust heats up! If I did it again I'd try soapy water first!

"WD-40 can be used on just about everything. It is safe for metal, rubber, wood and plastic."

My hangers are just fine.

I just use a dab of dish soap. Hangers come right off.

i used lube and penetrating spray. the hangers were easy peasy. Another good trick is while you're prying with one hand bounce the exhaust with the other hand up and down left and right and it makes them come off fairly easy.

Putting them back in is so easy all you need is minimal effort (use lube everything up)

My hangers are just fine.
"Polycarbonate and clear polystyrene plastic are among the few surfaces on which to avoid using a petroleum-based product like WD-40."

So its "some" plastics.

If thats what the hangers are made from, then i guess I should stop using it, thanks for the info.
I guess my new instructions would be:
"Just take a flat head screw driver, stick it in between the bushing and the hanger and open pry it open a little, then take some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray it into the opening, by the time you do it to all of them the first few can come off with just using your hands."
