MS RX8 or modified turbo RX8? you make the call

Is is a spy shot of the MS RX8 or owner modified RX8? I vote that it's an owner's modified RX8.

Not sure if anyone has seen these:

Even if it is modified--where'd the turbo come from! Because all those parts on it are $$, Intercooler and boost gauge--carbon fiber binnacle. Could this be a Blitz test mule? The size of the intercooler suggest something well over 300HP. Did anybody see it run?

More than likely it's a radiator. I think intercooler cores wouldn't be as thin as that. The gauge is either a BLITZ boost, or vacuum gauge. I can't tell, since both are almost similar. Perhaps it's supercharged?

Here's a pdf of the BLITZ gauges.

Although they are quite similar, on the boost guage you can see it goes from -1.0 to 2.0, resting at 0 and pointing left. The vacuum meter goes from resting at 0 pointing right and goes left to -1.0. In the RX-8 the gauge is pointing left and resting at 0, with a range of -1.0 to 2.0. It's boost :D

edit: and they vacuum gauge #'s don't match up either, on the boost gauge it goes from the 6 'oclock clockwise to 3 (which matches my picture) and the vacuum goes from 5 counterclockwise to the 7

Unfortunately no, I didn't get to hear it, it was just up in the parking lot, and the guage was mounted on the left windshield pillar (A-pillar?)
