the one u mention is like u're paying 450 bux for an OE like box thats made of Carbon Kevlar. not worth it IMO.

 

witch one of those is the best (hp) and prices would be nice to.

 

Searching would as well. Go with the Revi Intake+Duct and you'll be fine. Check the forum vendors for pricing.

nice *** looking piece. but as nyc said, its just a carbon fiber box. although it does seem to have a smooth stepped tube from the aluminum tube.

makes my self made styrene intake tube insert seem like ****... =(

 

HKS racing suction if your down for spending big bucks..ill never go back to any other aftermarket ones. You have to like noise though

 

Stock box is fine, no aftermarket intake will give you noticeable gain.
I've had the RB+air duct and the AEM intake and for SOUND (if that is what you are looking for) I like RB+air duct better.
That's my 2 cents.

 

none of them will give you much power. this engine (and its intake) is pretty much max out from factory.

 

i mean, we say that, but a lot of people that have done group rx8 dyno days say all the rx8s that were stock with just a CAI dynoed ~5hp on average higher than all the purely stock rx8s.

 

its a nice box, cept the filter used cant' flow enough air, hence its a restriction and actually costs hp, if they made one with a bigger better filter element that would be nice, if u want one I have a umnitza cf wich is the exact same thing as that, only slightly modded, u can have it for 100 bucks, it does sound really cool I'll give em that

 

kersh: that may be true, but nothing that can be felt really. Aftermarket intakes are good for sound and bling under the hood.

 

a few 5whp mods add up...

we all thought headers didnt do anything either. but apparently they are good for at least 11whp and up to 28whp.

 

what headers do that?
