Can you not take 2 or 3 spark plug non-foulers for 2 stroke engines, drill them out, and use them as spacers for the O2 sensors? That's what they did on the E39 and E46 BMW's and it seemed to prevent a CEL.

No you cannot. You will throw a p0139. The ECU is far too sensitive to exhaust emissions checking.

Yes, you CAN do that, and it will typically prevent:
P0420 - Catalyst system efficiency below threshold

However, you won't prevent a CEL, because our ECU is smart enough to know what to look for if the conditions at the sensor tip change. As a result, you will instead get one or more of:
P0138 - Rear HO2S circuit high voltage
P0139 - Rear HO2S circuit slow response (<- the typical one)
P0171 - System too lean
P2096 - Target A/F feedback system too lean
P2270 - Rear HO2S signal stuck lean

So you will still have a CEL anyway.

Ok. So you're doing more harm than good. Thanks.

No one said it was doing harm to anything. A CEL is not "harmful"

Yeah, what I meant is I'd rather have one code than multiple.
