midpipe question

When i talked to the mazda dealer he said if you take off the catalytic convertor it voids the warranty on the engine because the of the o2 sensor. Is there anyway to attach the o2 sensor to an aftermarket midpipe and does it stil void your warranty?

the o2 sensor responsible for closed loop monitoring is mounted in the manifold, not the midpipe. The midpipe has a rear sensor that only detects if the cat is working. If there is no cat, you don't need the rear sensor.

You can try and fake out the second 02 with a spacer in the bung hole. But, this works for some and not for others. As for your warranty, if something happens just put the cat back on and erase your ECU. Problem fixed.
