Midpipe question

I want to get a midpipe, but I am concerned that it will put too much flow to my
SP2 exhaust. I bought the exhaust used and the guy said it has 60,000 miles on it. Will the exhaust hold up?

The Sp2 is one of the louder exhausts out there, putting a midpipe on it will sure be noisy. As for the exhaust it can handle the flow, but at 60,000 it is getting old. Here is what happened to one of the welds on my SP2 when it had 76,000 in it. Full thread about that HERE.

I was saying your exhaust has 4 holes now instead of 3. anyways, even tho you had that many miles on your exhaust they replaced it for free?

i had a RP Supercat (awesome) and the ExoticSpeed Racepipe (awesome + flames).

I've got plenty of vids of the sound of the exhaust.

I don't think the track had anything to do with that weld breaking. Just one of those things, the tips do turn white after 3-4 good runs

At the time the warranty Greddy had was three years, didn't mention any miles.

what does this have to do with the price of beans in China?

to the OP: Your exhaust should be able to handle the flow but make sure it's a resonated midpipe or that's going to be LOUD.

^^ This is good you tell me this, because I was about to buy an AP midpipe from a forum member, but that is a straight pipe without res or converter right? Thanks Jedi.

I believe the AP is non-resonated which will be awfully loud.

You should send a PM to Charles R. Hill, he's about to start shipping out their new midpipe. The resonator won't blow out unlike other midpipes out there.

There are other resonated midpipes out there such as the dual resonated but.... 2 is not always greater then 1.
Plus the DR midpipes use resonators with some form of packaging in them which can blow out eventually.

The AP mid-pipes are resonated.
I had the original single resonator, but the newer ones are now dual (and quieter).
