Cortc,
What is it that moves the pivot point, the plastic part or is that a new aluminum casting??

Guess how much a short shifter cost in a Porsche Boxster S in my friend car? It was on "special"

$AUD 1500 with installation.

Richard: It is the machined aluminum spacer, the shifter comes with new longer bolts and locating pins... The spacer goes in between the transmission and the stock cast aluminum shifter mount that you see in the pictures... If you go to my other thread you can see all the parts...

probably a really dumb question...

but could you install the shifter without the spacer, thus not raising the ****?

i like practically sticking my hand into the hole to shift :D

No you can't. The bottom portion from the pivot point is longer by about 1/4 inch which translates to the shifter **** portion not having to travel as far in order to change gears. This extra length is accomodated for with the spacer.

i dont see much of a visual difference, but if it improves your shifts, thats all that matters. nice job on the install.
