Nope - it's urethane I think. You can push your fingernail into it.

Urethane? How's that feel then... if you can push your fingernail into it. I'm guessing it'll feel like holding onto your bumper?!

Its been awhile since I've felt it, but I think it feels kinda "rubbery". It does not feel like holding a bumper.

How many grams does the mazdaspeed urathane shift **** weigh? I wanna know how the feel is like because I have a weighted razo **** (drift spec 450+ grams) but the feel of the **** is akward. I want something that is the same shape as the mazdaspeed **** but weighted. Nothing metal either cuz wen summer hits, the **** is hot as hell lol Anybody have any suggestions?

Me too.

I am looking for something non-metalic on the surface, and will not conduct heat from the transmission, but has some heft.

I ordered and used for a day or two a spun magnum. It was way too hot. And the heat was from the tranny, or the cat through the tranny.

I like the way it felt, not the temps.

So if someone has an idea out there I wan to hear it too!

feels great. the stock **** was heavy peice, but the MS isnt that light itself. It seems slightly lighter than stock, but the size/shape is definately better. It's shorter and lets you feel what going on when you shift alot better than stock.

Hope that helped some

Yeah. I dunno about pushing your fingernail into, but that white powder stuff shows easy when you rub your nail against it. It doesn't get hot at all, and i would know, I live in texas..south that is, so it gets pretty hot.

Steep price, feels great and it is a little lighter than the stock shifter, so throws feels different, especially with the shape. You can't really see the MS logo unless you look at it, but it's worth it to me.

Anyone have experience with it in the winter time? I am assuming it doesn't get as cold as aluminum and steel *****, is that right?

Huzer21, how could does it get in Denver? I am from Montreal, and winters here get pretty chilly here. Right now I have a TWM **** ( that has a similar design to the mazdaspeed one, it feels great but already it gets pretty cold, good thing about it is that it warms up fairly quickly, so idunno if mazdaspeed is worth spending another hundred bucks on. What are the dimensions of the mazdaspeed ****?

Doesn't get nearly as cold as Montreal (I'm originally from northern NY....Go Habs!) Obviously, temperature does dictate how warm/cold it is. It warms up quickly, but never gets the "cold to the touch" feeling of anything metal. I can drive comfortably during winter with no gloves.
