Cool Mazdaspeed catback impact on mpg?

Hi,

I'm toying with the idea of getting the mazdaspeed catback on my 8 when spring comes (live in cold, cold Canada... *sob*).

I am at peace with the fact that the 8 guzzles premium like it's gatorade, but still I'm wondering what kind of impact your aftermarket catback has had on fuel consumption on your 8.

Is it noticeable or are you too busy listening to your cool exhaust tone to notice?

Thanks for your feedback!

I had the MS CAI & MS catback put on the same day. No noticable difference in the last three months. Love the sound though

i went from 23 to 25mpg with the AEM CAI and RB cat-back. not sure if the RB wires helped at all, but those were on there too.

MS Twin Sport Catback and I think I get less MPG. Due to the fact that I love to hear it rev. ZOOM ZOOM!!!
Honestly I don't think there's a measurable difference in fuel economy, least none that I can see.
BUT IT SOUNDS DAMN GOOD.

23 mpg! now 25! I have only hit 20 a couple times and that was taking it pretty slow and mainly highway.

I am at the point where I don't even calculate it anymore. Last Tank before I installed my turboXs exhaust and typhoon 2 intake I calculated 14.5 mpg....
