yea its the same, a lot of oem stamped after market parts like TRD and Mazdaspeed, just rebadges other manufactuers parts. Paying mostly for the name and warranty coverage.

So just installed my AEM and it's awesome. One small thing- if you have racing beat screens, you have to bend back one of the mounting clips in order for the intake tube to fit. Other than that, sounds really good. I really haven't felt any difference in power, but idle seems a little smoother.

I installed the MS CAI on my 2006 Shinka two months ago. Here are my thoughts:
1. Dyno shows 2-3 peak horsepower at best.
2. The car feels slightly more powerful at 7500 and above.
3. The car definitely sounds better. It is much louder between 8000-9500 rpm.
I bought the part from and had it installed by my local dealer, Tasca Mazda in Cranston, RI.

AEM was the third party on the design team, thats why it looks exactly like the AEM intake.... and the warranty is only for like 12 months or osmething like that... Personally I would do waht zenmoused did and just buy the AEM, you save money, and you can choose colors for the tubing....plus the AEM has numbers out, not impressive, but thye have numbers out

I'm not worried. Your dealer would have to be a real dick to not work on your car because of the brand of air filter you use. Also it would tend to be against the law. If you read your warranty info, you are allowed to fit aftermarket parts on your car, and while the dealer can void warranty on that part of the car, they cannot void anything beyond that without proof that your aftermarket part caused damage to other parts. Think about it this way- would they void the warranty if you got a different brand of tires or spark plugs?

Still think the warranty with it is worth it. You never know when something could go wrong. I definately don't, and won't regret it. I'd rather the dealer be like "Damn! He has MS! Foiled!" than "Haha! Sucker's got the AEM. Oh man there goes the warranty" We all know how much some dealers love to do that.

Dealer can do the same thing with the mazdaspeed intake as they can with any other. Mazdaspeed does not equal Mazda. It's the dealer you go to that makes the difference.

iIf you check the warranty color on the MS it is only recommended for track use HA HA HA.
My Mazda dealer said no problem because its Mazdaspeed and they will have no problems with any warranty issue on any part of the car with this installed.
These guys were great when I bought the car and have always been great with any questions. What dealership do you know puts the rotary mechanic on the phone when you have technical questions on performance improvements and the ups & possible downs of each?
Mine does.
