if your goal is that much power, then buying the car will be least expensive part of your venture. honestly, listen to everyone, you arent going to be able to do this cheaply.

because you want to go in a straight line, you will NEVER be happy with this car, this is simply not a drag car. look elsewhere.

 

if you want to go fast for cheap with a car that responds well to mods, try a 5.0 mustang. there is your perfect straight line car that will crush evo's and wrx's that you care so much about beating.

manual vs auto...

why are we on this argument/debate again?

sorry to be rude. the choice is clear... if you can and will put forth effort to shift yourself, get the manual. but if you're either lacking the speed, talent, or it doesn't fit in your lifestyle anymore, then go for auto.

just know that for the most part of the past to the present, auto have been the only trim to have a decrease in power. and it is both so for piston or rotary cars... at least up until the 6port auto, which i'm not too clear on the specs...

one other thing.

my friend who bought an auto RX-8 although he can drive a manual, is due to him not being too mechanic savvy, has children now, and complains of shifts in traffic... needless to say, his rotary isn't happy and is having problems.

if you can keep a thorough bred runner and keep up, then a rotary is for you.

if NOT, please choose some other car. its for yours/ ours best interest.
