making my duce into a 3 rotor
Does any one have any info on what it's going to take to make my "two" into a "three"? Mazda is shipping me every thing I will need to make the transition and I chose Mazda of Great Neck (mazdaspeed shop) to do the deed. I haven't contacted them about it yet, I wanted to find out what to expect since I'm paying for the labor end of it. Any info would be greatly apreciated.

I've done some reading on this in the major horsepower thread. It is soundind like it is going to be a real project. I had no idea the involvment in this. I'm unsure I'm willing to do this to my baby.

actually is not that hard, just lots of work. It will cost you about 13K to do it. Contact the guy that did it in this thread (rgonza) https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/3-rotor-rx8-google-page-ranking-78088/ and he will supply you with the turbo manifold, engine mount, fuel rails with injectors for a good price. He will help you in any way possible too. He is a very nice guy that is not out to make money out of this, he just want to share this will all of us.

Greatneck? Do you live in LI ?
Well, How much for labor, that depends on how much the Great Neck Dealership charge per hour. Usuaully 90 Per hour, might be more or less.
and expect this thing to last at least 2-3 weeks. They have to take everything out. Forge it, put everything back, upgrade whatever they need, Tunning.etc (and EXPECT PROBLEMS during the process, which will make it even longer!)
dont forget about Emissions. You know how crazy they give people tickets in NY

yeah you can kiss emissions good bye on that. BTW I should have been more specific, 13K is if you do the labor yourself. To make tuning easier a Microtech is better because you will get it with a base map to start our car. All the above mention parts that rgonza can get you is under 2k BTW.

It seems to me that since Speed Source Engineering is running a 3 rotor RX8 in the Grand Am series, and that actually were contracted by mazda to get the program running, that they might be a good source to check out (and they are open to selling parts)
of course though now that i think about it the 3 rotor cars are tube chassis cars so that might not even be relevant... who knows

I listed the parts in the post above. They didn't send it yet, so I don't know exactly what pieces they will be. They will be spare parts off of their race division in Texas. They said they would send everything I would need, so we'll see. I'm debating on whether i want to do it or not. I did recieve the cat back last night.

^^^ What ever, we'll see. BTW I didn't order anything yet, that's why I started this thead. I dont want to commit to doing this if it's going to be a huge deal, I'm not sure I'm ready to dump 13 grand down to do this. I was simply listing the items I would get 'cause Zoom asked.

Do a search on Acosta and their 3-rotor 20B conversion and the cost involved for a taste, and still end up with something that is not very streetable because of the ECU situation. If you just want a fast as hell RX8 and have $10k lying around, look at one of the high-end turbo kits like SFR.

This is confusing, mainly because I don't think he really knows what he's doing.
From what I can gather, doesn't sound like you're buying a 20B to swap in, correct? Rather you are taking a current 13B and trying to build a 3 rotor out of it. Is that right? If you're doing this with a Renesis, wooo have fun with that, going to cost you tons. I'd love to see a 3 rotor Renesis, though, Mazda really should've done that from the start :D
And what the hell are you ordering from Mazda? This thread is full of confusion
