looking for ideas

What would you do with a stock 05 rx8 gt fully loaded minus the gps and $3000.00. You cannot go over $3000.00 and your doing the labor yourself. Please include where you would buy the parts and how much you would pay. Include shipping cost also.

Probably find a used cobb ap, new if you can still buy them(not sure) - $300 used. Exhaust + midpipe, anywhere from $600 to over a thousand depending what your buying. I dont know much about lowering springs for this car, but that should be on your list, check the suspension section.

Its hard to give your estimates because what I would do with the car doesn't have any real bearing on what you would do with the car. An exhaust I like might not be the right one for you.

No offense, but I really dislike these kinds of threads. It's such a vague question.
OP, why don't you search the forums and choose some things that you think will most suit your needs.

Honestly, if you have $3k burning a hole in your pocket, why don't you put that into a savings account or something along those lines for future emergencies...

I have the extra cash and wish to put it into my car. Its not really burning a hole in my pocket. I don't plan on ordering parts for awhile. I'm just trying to get some ideas for what I want to do, hence the title of the thread.

Trying to gain as much HP and stability for 3K. I know I want an intake and an exhaust along with a Cobb.Ttrying to find the best exhaust and intake. The car is only driven on my days off and its driven on the roadway never on a track.

then search for exhausts/ intakes. Those topics have been beaten to death, revived, then beat some more.
forget trying to get hp and go for cosmetic or reliability if it's just a daily driver...

If you want HP then maybe skip the intake and get a midpipe + exhaust instead. The exhaust wont help much but the midpipe will for sure. For the money you spend on an intake it doesn't really give you much if any extra hp just sound. even if the intake gave you 2 hp that would be like $150-200 per hp which really isnt that great. I dont know the actual numbers but I have heard bad things.

for one thing what do you want?

Driving experience, speed, looks, noise, visible mods so the car is different?

I like the stock look. Primarily speed then secondarily sound.

Xexok I appreciate your advice on the midpipe. Is there one brand better than the other?

The best midpipe available is probably the BHR one. Most midpipes use some type of packing in the resonators and over time it will break down and eventually be gone. The BHR one to my knowledge does not have this problem, I dont think it uses any packing at all.

You can get it with a high-flow cat if you want, or just go basic and have no cat at all. You should also consider getting the BHR ignition coils as well, thats a great upgrade for around $400(not sure on exact price).

OP, don't mock others based on your vague question. Do you know if getting gold plating is something that terch1 wouldn't really do if he had $3000.00, based off your own stupid question?

Not looking to start a pissing contest. I asked for ideas and was hoping for intelligent responses and for the most part that is what I got. For the short time I have been on this site I have found several people that are very knowledgeable and very helpful. I have also found several people that are immature douche bags when someone new poses a question. I'm not sure if they do that to that to make themselves feel superior or if they think it makes them look cool. I and I'm sure many others believe it makes them look like ignorant immature ********. If someone acts like an *** I'll treat them like an ***. If this doesn't apply to you then you should not be offended, however if it does stop acting like a child and be an adult. If you give respect then you'll receive respect in return.

TurboXS exhaust+midpipe - $500 (loud as hell so you may want to buy a resonated midpipe extra $300)
Cobb AP - $650 with tune
BHR ignition - $500
Koni Yellows - $500
Tein S techs - $150
RB sways - $250
BHR Flywheel - $350
Total - $2900
Than take the extra $100 and read this thread

Op it was a joke! But what it comes down to is these threads are vague and just flat out stupid. What should I do to my car? There are probably hundreds of threads like this. What exhaust should I get? What intake should I get? What coilovers should I get? What rims should I get? What tires should I get? What gauges should I get? What body kit should I get? Ultimately the choice is yours. Get what you want based on what your looking on getting out of your car whether it be looks, performance, or reliability. With a little research you could have came up with "all" the suggestions that were mentioned above. Next why don't we discuss what oil you should use!
