Obviously in 'theory' this thing should increase power based on the added air being forced into the engine........but I would think that it would mess up the computers air/fuel mixtures to the point of lowering hp output. That whole explaination of a 'performance chip' fixing the ECU concern seems strange.

No, this is a bilge pump designed for a shrimp boat or something. It will restrict airflow and reduce power.

If someone wants to have the world's first amphibious RX-8 and save money on fresh shrimp, this might be pretty awesome.

How much of a horsepower gain can I get from this installation?
On average you can expect about a 10% increase in horsepower.
"On average" and "about" mean that someone's performance gain of zero would be legally included in their marketing claim.

I once saw a video though that proved that blowing air directly into the intake tube increased the hp by up to 25. What they did was completely removed the air intake ducting and blew air directly into the opening with a leaf blower..

Cant remember where I saw the vid though...

This was not with an RX8 either.. Thought I should divulge that
