Jon316G's Dyno Run Analysis

3 Attachment(s)
I performed 3 dyno runs today and want some opinions since I'm not very knowledgeable on reading these graphs.
List of mods are in my signature.
The outcome was surprising... I expected a little more, but its difficult to judge since I don't have a stock dyno to base the improvements off of.

I also don't like the A/F ratio since it starts off lean and gradually richens.
Shouldn't this be more linear?
And could this be effecting my numbers (HP and/or TQ)?

My first thought was, "Oh no, is it time for a compression test!"
But the graph curves appear very good.
Wouldn't I see some crazy "spiking" along the curve if I had any electrical or mechanical issues?

Each PDF has 3 pages of information, the first page is the graph and the other two are the text-based data.
Thanks for taking the time to review this and any input would be greatly appreciated.

what kind of dyno is this?

Jon316G 09-14-2009 07:47 PM

Dynojet

Those are decent graphs...even the AFR's aren't that bad...

Your AP tune looks OK...the AFR graph is a bit hard to read..but you are missing the usual pig rich top end from the stock tune

does seem a little low for a dynojet
the power and tq curve look fine tho

That's what I thought too...
My friend was also there tuning his TransAm and his first run was 20HP less than before on the same dyno.
What's the chance the dyno is reading incorrectly.

I had low numbers when i dynoed my car for the first time. But having never done this before I had no clue what I was doing lol
After I found I needed new coils wire spark plugs oil change and a seafoam really bad.
This is a good thread to check out

I doubt I need new coils ;)

Your AFR actually looks pretty good for an NA car. Not nearly as rich as stock.

Your power curve is pretty good too. My money is on the dyno reading low. Don't get hung up on it tho, it the car still feels quick then that's all that matters. But now you have a basline with your current mods so if you change anything you have this baseline

You never know. Look what happen with Jedi on his first dyno run with them. I'm just saying. Hey let me see if I can find my dyno slip brb...

@!!narotordo 09-14-2009 08:27 PM

Oh yeah did you pull the room fuse?

I only say I don't need coils because they are BHR's :)

I remember reading that whole thing and I don't want to get into that here.
But no... I didn't.

all you need to do is turn off traction control

How come you didnt take it to redline? Graphs show 8200.
Dyno in 4th gear, should be 5th (although I dont think thats going to cost you the 10-15 HP you were hoping for.

Im no tuning guru, but 12:1 up top seems a little rich to me.

Since you dont have a stock baseline, you cant tell how much you gained with the mods. Maybe yours stock is one of the 170 HP cars?

I told the guy to take it to 8500.
Didn't see a reason to go higher than that.

My Scangauge II reads 8300 at red line according to a little past the 9k mark on the stock tach.

Which gear were the pulls done in?

The sheets have the gear listed ;)
But the first one was in 4th, they wanted to do 3rd for the other two.

You should be able to read the AFR easier with that.
