Why won't a turbo rotary last? My single turbo FC went ~150K before the engine needed to be replaced.

Heh. I had no idea the JIC RX-8 even had a turbocharger. What type/size is it? That thing must fly. :D

I think the show Redline TV showed this and it is an FD-powered RX-8. That's what they call it. It doesn't have the renesis in it.

Argh those cheats! I was considering swapping the RENESIS for the 13B-REW. If I were to do that, might as well have bought a 3rd gen.

I haven't checked today but yesterday on ebay there was a 20b for only 3500 that you could put in there instead!

Add another $30,000 for labor and customization for that 20b. It's not a cheap swap... even for the 3rd gen RX-7s it's an arm and a leg.

They're the ones that charge about $37K-$40K for the swap. It is worth it though... 600hp at 11 psi and about 800hp at 23 psi. I think it's worth it.

the only thing i know for a fact is that the jic car did not compeat in the formula D in huoston because his motor blew a few days before!!!!! he drove a miata insted and it was not a good performance. every time i tryed to ask the driver what happend he was in the a/c cooling down or whatever so i never got the chance. the jic car was just featured in ss or mod a few months ago and they said nothing about turbo or plans for it ?????

they probably used the FD motor because they can actually tune that motor properly for performance.
