Ohhhh mama....I can't wait.

What mod's does your car have? I'm asking because if it has other things attached then maybe the dyno wont show exactly what just the NA Intercep. can do.

Can't wait to here the dyno story...

swoope...do you fly the Worthog?

if he does a baseline-even with the mods, then you should get a good picture of a before and after the tuning.

So cruise control will work for the NA cars? I wonder if that is going to be added onto the boosted version. It would be nice to have cruise control again.

Cost

I am curious as to the results as well, but $1800 ish for 20-25hp?? I personally think that's more than a little stretched. The price per unit has to come down.

Heck, for that matter add in pretty much each and every mod for the RX8. Last night I was looking around the net and it seems everything for our cars (yes I remember you all talking about it but never really looked for myself) is overpriced.

And...it's not just the aftermarket companies, check out Mazda's products. I don't know what Mazda is smoking but other than a cargo net I don't think I want ANYTHING from Mazda. They are the mod overprice KING!

I would love to hear this thing can give us 20-25 HP but as most of you all are saying the bang for the buck factor is horrid.

I know it takes them alot of work and the initial price will always be the highest, but MY LORD...can the common guy mod his car? lol

it is on the to do list, to get it to work on the turbo is very complicated.

Does the X mount under the ECU cover? Are there cables that need to pass through the firewall to your PC?

Why would it be more complicated than for the NA? I thought the only difference would be the values in the maps...

Yeah why would you pay that much for only 20hp when you can spend half that much on any other mod and only get 2-3hp.

tuners of throttle by wire cars have to take a lot of medication--therefore the price is higher

Or, you could pay 50% more and get a damn turbo and get at least 60hp....

I dont believe at this point that a turbo would hold up to track days. There is already someone on this board who blew his tranny because of a spirited track day. I dont want to risk it, so if I could gain 25 whp for 1700, it's worth it to me.

As long as you don't go doing 6krpm launches on a stock tranny it should hold up fine. Besides you really don't need to launch that hard with the turbo.

Thats what I am worried about... We'll just have to wait and see the results of the dyno next week.. I remember being in the same position.. ohhh.. a few years ago awaiting the dyno from Maurice.. Lets just hope we have more success stories than not.. The buzz after the dyno was posted was amazing and practically ripped through the website like a hurricane.... Sorry to those in Florida.. It's true though. I bet this product will be in the same situation as the CZ was way back when if it too has a good dyno graph to prove it's results.

I strongly disagree, I know a lot of competitors doing 6k+ launches at Pro Solo events etc. on r-compound tires without a single failure to date

This is from a knowledgable person strongly involved with an RX-8 Cup track series, which are NA making 260hp with running starts, I won't post his affiliation or name since I didn't secure permission to post this private communication:

the original gearbox, that at the moment seems to be the worst face of the RX8. With this power which you could have some problem to the clutch or 2nd, 3rd or 4th syncro....and last but not least primary shaft.
so it's not a launch issue, if you up the power in this car and use it you better plan to replace the trans at some point
