which intake is best?
i'm thinking about getting an intake. i live in california so i was thinking k&n CIA or racing beat air box setup or an AEM CAI which is best for our car? whats going to get the most gains? and i've only put short ram intakes and my other cars and it got more hp but my mpg went down do CAI's lose mpg? or stay even or gain?

In my opinion, the stock air box on the rx8 was engineered quite well, it doesnt need to be replaced by a $250+ CAI.
most if not all of those intakes wont get you more than 6-7 hp, and the stock box looks good overall in the engine bay too. go here https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...e+stock+airbox and follow the instructions, its all you need, and it saves you some green hahahaa. |
thanks alot

just remove the intake, vfad and maf, then put a screen over the hole in the throttle body and cap the secondary vacuum inlet. You'll get a cel, but it's just the maf. It'll idle like shit. But it'll sound awesome. And you'll get the most gains. they'll be sporadic. but hey, it's all about peak horsepower, right? c'mon. use the search button.

just run the accordion tube straight from the throttle body. |
good idea. stretch it out and make it a CAI.

That's a CAS (cold air storage) for those really hot days; the reserve Cold air held in the CAS comes in handy then for that much needed boost. |
just stick w the stock intake and put in a k&n drop in filter, if u put other intakes u will loose the lilttle torque u have and u barley gain any hp it's a waste of money all they really do is make ur car sound a lil louder thats it!
