Injen Intake

Anyone have one of these ? Been looking for intakes all over, searched threads here. I'm down to this one. If anyone has one or know anything about it any advice would be appreciated. This would be my first start of planed mods for my 2004 RX8 mt 6 speed. Than free flow exhaust and a chip mod. The chip I have no clue. So confusing, I'm willing to spend the $$ on a good chip. I was told to stay away from any chips that state that they fool the ECU into performance. Anyone know a good working and safe chip to buy ? Don't want **** the engine with it or greatly shorten it's life at 70k now.

thanks,

Julian

There are no "chip" mods. Cobb Access Port is what you want. Racing Beat makes a great intake as well as AEM. Unless you are just looking for that air intake sound, then any intake will do.

Yea chips are garbage. Either get an AP which would be the best choice or I believe racing beat can reprogram your ecu but that involves taking it off and sending it to them.

Looked at the Cobb accesport, saw an install video. Wow F the chips. This thing takes over everything and gives you full control. Now that can be dangerous too..lol Saw some jackass **** through the gears with the rpm burried over the 10k mark, can't be good for the engine lol. five bills for this thing but I'm not rich enough to buy cheap things. One thing I could not find a clear answer to, perhaps you have an idea. Can I expect some HP gain and not beat the engine ? Have a ball park number ?

For sure looking for performance increase, and better sound is nice, but want to get the better sound because car was done right. I'm sure the stainless steel cat back will add the sound. looked at the racing Beat intake, looks great and sounds like no other, more of a pitch ferrari sound. Hope I dont **** the car good by playing with the Cobb settings. Great help..Thank you !!!

Sending it out would mean I'd have to borrow my mom's Ford Tortoise. I think I'll go with the Cobb. Saw plenty of video clips. Looks like it works. Also I just may try to find a small shop in Mass,RI,CT or NH that is hopefully reasonable.
For sure cheaper to get my car tuned by them, than an oil change and a new stock muffler at my Retarded Mazda dealer

Tx much...

injens a good intake, ive had it 1+ year now. If you want a little louder sound get the injen, if you want it a little quieter get the racing beat.. get the revi duct for any intake you get. Any other id stay away from unless its boxed in completely like two i mentioned, or it runs outside of the firewall like an AEM.
