Ingalls Engineering Stiffy Torque Damper

Well, they used my car to fit/test their product, so I've got it on my car. It was installed this morning by Adam at Ingalls Engineering in Louisville. I know, I know: "torque damper for this engine, haha..." but hey, I figured I'd give it a shot, especially for a free product! Just thought I'd share pics, as I know that this is the first one out there. Enjoy.

Oh you hush now. I knew I'd be opening myself up to this, but I figured I'd loan them my car to get this produced. Always willing to help out the local companies!

lol, I'm not so sure it's such a bad idea given the number of broken engine mounts and idle shaking issues people report

Actually doesn't look too bad. I like the way they mounted it. Have you noticed less vibration at idle through the shifter at all?

I've heard of these causing vibrations and similar noises on other cars. Also heard of them breaking although I dont think the 8 engine should be putting much stress on it. Better polyurethane mounts would do a better job than the stiffy imo.

I haven't noticed much of a difference at this point to be honest. I pretty much drove the car from the shop to home, and to work this morning. Everything was put on yesterday, so I don't think they have a part number or price available as of yet. I'll ask the folks at Ingalls when they plan to do that.

Where does it attach to on the left? Does that plate have another plate that sits under the strut tower bar?

That's exactly how it mounts.

I have an idea for the factory mounts that may make them stronger and last longer but since I cannot remove my solid motor mounts without major surgery right now I may have to ask for a tester or two.

We haven't gotten to that point but I can get the Ingalls Damper. It is something like almost $200. Ouch.
