No, not really.....maybe a little duller than original, but not much. My car needs a wash...I'll post a good close-up pic of a Hymee tip with 6000 miles on it later on.

thanks Aussies
Stainless is a fair bit more expensive, about 60% dearer, IIRC.

Any weight difference between these two types?

The tips got a wash, the car didn't.....Looking closely at them, they haven't yellowed at all. Spot my Labrador in one of these pics :D .

These tips are the "short taper" tips, and have a different internal cross-section to those on Wildcards car pictured above. You will see that my tips "open up" in the last inch...Wildcard's tips tapered over the full tip length, not the last inch. As a result, his appear to be bigger when viewed from the rear. Last time I spoke to Hymee he was only producing exhausts with the short taper, so the point is probably moot now anyway.

Gomez.

Edit...the second pic I included as it shows the angle the tips are cut at....although the pic appears to indicate the steel has "blued", that isn't the case. It's a reflection off the Winning Blue paint.

one more thing...could you post a pic at exhaust tip level that catches the whole back of the car please? and then one from a little higher up?

Thanks!

Here's one from the vault, I took this one when I changed my diff oil a while back. The tips were obviously in need of a wash that day.

I'll take a few more shots for you later....

They are on there Richard, I just blanked out the plate using a photoshop program before I posted the photo. Most people do this, it prevents those with access to the police/DMV records from taking down your details and then coming over and "boosting your ride". Allows some on-line anonymity too, for those of us that like to tell big lies... :D You can't tell big lies, Mr Richard Paul......

I like the standard taper setup...but I would also like to see more pics of the 'special' taper setup...like on the bottom pic

more pics from farther back...also is the piping darker on the 'special' one or is it just the lighting?

As I mentioned earlier, I think the short taper (special) is all that's available now. That is what is on my car. And yes, the tips needed a wash, that's why they are dark. The photo's of Wildcard's car on the hoist early in this thread show the tips on an exhaust that has never been used in anger....that's why they were so clean .

GOD DAMN after following this thread i am SO sold on a Hymee exhaust with short tapered tips....

But i just invested in a bodykit so i dont have enough dough lying around for this right now...let alone the stainless steel version.... and plus shipping from Australia to Canada OMG its gonna rape me dearly

So as for the mild steel version.. what would happen to the exhaust 3-5 years down the road?... rust?

So when Hymee says that the stainless steel version will last 20-25 years while the mild steel version will last ~5 years.......what does he mean by the shortened lifespan?

What would be the mild steel version exhaust be like after 5 years?

Do you find the Hymee exhaust to be a loud exhaust?
How does it compare to the Racing Beat exhaust?

i cant really judge from the sound clips

My wife and i are totally against cheap loud exhausts but Hymees exhaust always brings a smile to our face ITS NOT INSTRUSIVE even with the windows down , it really gives the car the voice it deserves .

I would say its on par to racing beats for quality and sound but have only heard sound clip of racing beats.

Hymee if your reading this dont forget my PO BOX number for the 10%commission j/k

cheers
