From what I see the Cobb AP, and a good tune are the best power for the money.

A reliability mod too!

See MazdaManiac (or search for him).

I am not a current owner of an AP, but my piggy bank is on schedule for this year.

The flywheel is not necessarily a power gain... it just allows for more hp to reach the wheels due to the lighter rotational mass

Spelling and grammar lessons are always good things to spend money on...

You're not going to get significant power increases without going FI, period. end of story. Blowing $1000 for an amount of horsepower that you'll barely feel seems a waste to me. Especially when there are other mods you can do that will have significant gains in things like handling and appearance.

Mazdaspeed springs?
Decent Tires?
Short shifter?
Swaybars?
Strut bars?
Strakes?

I LOL'ed on that one

Anyways, this question has been asked millions of times. Look around.

Nitrous can be done for under $1k and has good results.

The COBB AccessPORT is a solid mod as well.

An intake will net you more power than any exhaust (except a race pipe), but don't expect much.

don't suggest a flywheel to this guy. he is going to be pissed off when he goes to get it installed and they want $4-600.

No.

The Cobb AP is a flash tool that reprograms your cars stock computer (PCM) with custom tunes.

Visit www.mazdamaniac.com for more info.

I would really suggest researching more, however, before you just go making your car a parts shelf.

Wouldn't a good place to learn about the Cobb Access Port be http://cobbtuning.com/ ??

Sure, but I sent him to MM's website because you free custom tuning (something COBB doesn't offer). And his support is better.

best way to improve your rx8 is suspension/sway bars/brake pads/tires/driving lessons.

^ yes, terribly. So bad that people stuck behind you in traffic will definitely curse you out when they get the chance to pass you. True story.

That would be a matter of opinion.

You do get the smell of gas, though. It just depends on how much it bothers you.

The smell will also get you pulled over and cited for running without a cat, which is illegal in every state in America AFAIK.
