HKS single exhuast

Brother had an HKS hi power on TC . No problems, and great sound. High quality exhuast. Not that it will make much difference with going HKS rather than AP, but i think it is safe to go with a brand like HKS.

If i purchase the HKS single ap, does it come with the necessary bolts etc.? Also, need i modify my bumper area where the exhuast needs to fit? Anyone?

Yes, it will come with everything & no you wont have to modify your bumper.

The single application looks quite big though. Won't it melt the bumper like butter?

I think the hks has no problems with heat , it sticks out sufficient enough also...from what ive seen. Hope this helps.

PS: The HKS single exhaust on rx8 sounds sweeeeeet , bit on the loud side though!

I'd get it myself: I have the Legamax and I love it. Only reason I'm not is because I prefer the twin outlets. It looks kind of funny with one of the rear bumper outlets empty.

...yeah the HKS single sounds sick. I have seen and heard this exhaust in person as forum member "Uncivilizedracer" has it. IMO its at the top of the list for best sounding exhaust offered for the 8. Is on louder side but has NO raspy high notes.

The main pipe is mild steel - not stainless. Reason #1 not to go with it in my neck of the woods.

you need to cut some plastic off the bottom of your exhaust shroud for it to fit, nothing thats visible while the car is on the ground though

Mine fit with no cutting or melting. I've been running it for a few months now and I love it.

yes i have this exhaust as well hardest thing about the install is the 5 hangers you need to take off. unless you have a tool or are experienced with exhaust hangers.

sounds great saves weight 3in all the way back and is the least expensive exhaust on the market what more can you ask for

Shouldn't need to cut anything.

zero modification to the bumper or anything. direct bolt on, zero alterations.

depends how the split is done.. but I would venture to say that you wouldn't be losing anything - other than gaining weight from having two of them on your car. But even then, two HKS is going to be lighter than most dual can exhausts for this car.

i've heard the hks hipower and it sounds sweet. it just looks retarded as a single exhaust.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=mZ1ZgIGeE_c

if it were dual, it would be the only exhaust i'd consider.

I ran it catless for a short time... check my sig for videos: http://youtube.com/watch?v=UD6gDA1OktM

But I had a turbo on it.. so figure it's about 50% of the muffling a cat would do. It was way too loud for me.

as far as build quality and design, this is the #1 exhaust I've seen for the rx-8.
