Help.....How to shift faster and easier ?

When street racing and drifting, downshifting I miss gears, sometimes don't shift properly, and feels stiff.

I've changed the clutch to Act HD and Act HD pressure plate, ACT prolite flywheel, and feel power but not easy to shift, when my hands try to change gears it sometimes doesn't fall into place, maybe cause I do it to fast....

What can I do or replace to feel the shift a lot soft and faster.

I've heard about the short shift , but what does this actually do? Will I be able to shift faster and easier than stock for street racing and drifting purposes.

hmmm my friend had the same problem when trying to shift my car fast and kept missing and grinding the gears... so much that i eventually needed a new tranny. it's probably just ur timing with ur clutch and ur shifting as well as your accuracy of where you're shoving ur gear in a hurry.

I say just keep practicing... u don't really need the short shifter.

You're probably trying to shift before you have the clutch pressed all the way in. And you didnt need an ACT HD clutch unless you're FI. The stock clutch would have been fine but if you really wanted a clutch replacement, could have gone with an ACT Street clutch.

You can't "feel" power from those 2 mods, we don't support street racing. you are probably not rev matching and not shifting right. because technically speaking, even without engaging the clutch, one can SLAM into gear. it's a miss shift on your part.

when i started premixing, my shifting became faster, and it improved throttle response. I use 15% baking soda.

My computer froze and didn't realize how many times I posted, sorry for the duplicates.

I have posted honestly 3 diferent subjects not 6 of the same.

And yes I do read the sticky's it's just that everyone says this is better and this is wrong and eventually there isn't anything concrete that states what exactly is best for our cars, there are many options to specifications that doesn't come in a owners manual from mazda, nor if you aint a genius rotary mecanic, let's face it we all think we know when obviously we don't.

Bare with me for that as many new rotary users are learning.plus the forums are free and for full purpose to discuss these questions and concerns. It is why many of the forums here in RX8club.com have many unneeded comments without solutions of straight answers.

Like we all know that reading thru the forums you will actually see that there are over 100 threads with some 30% of accurate information, the rest is almost chat talk....

It's not easy upgrading a rotary here in Puerto Rico for that some are very jelous of their modifications and not to mention that street racing is legal here.
