look at the Cobb access port from MazdaManiac.com
It supports CEL deletes, engine parameter datalogging and performance tuning.
It's a good first step in support of follow on power mods.

Well, no one ever said owning an RX-8 is easy... nor is it a typical owner experience... and our vendors are all interesting characters.. it's a great community!

Cat efficiency CEL delete is standard with MM custom calibration service

Or you can download the Cobb race tune SW and do your own tune.
Jeff offers online tutorials that cover tuning.

My JDM had tested a cat deleted twin resonator mid pipe, single resonator mid pipe and straight through test pipe. CAT gone since almost 3 years ago but never have any check light that related to O2 sensor.

If you are worrying, you can come to my place and I let you try on my CAT chopped mid pipe. Then you can decide if wanna exchange your mid pipe with me so that you can save all the cost from chopping it. KL or Kuantan up to you.

Coolz bro, Thanks! Im currently using stock cat and sometimes knight sports high flow cat... My custom exhasut has already made the car growl loud enough, just want to see what i can do to make it louder so this is the last option but do not want the pesky check light on...

Hmmmz... are u headingz to KL anytime soon to collect the DVD ?

I'm using super dolphin. After replaced the CAT with resonator, sound level increased by at least 15%. It is sick if you travel for long distance. Need to put ear plug.

After CNY, I'll appear at the friday TT. Can pm the date you planned or you can arrange for me to leave it to someone. The only condition is to clean after use. But if you decided wanna exchange after try, same thing, ask someone to clean yours for me. FOC. Remember to spray some WD40 on the socket just in case the pin oxidized and have bad contact.

Most probably i'll head down in end of Jan... PM u here or in rx8clubmalaysia?

PS: i thought the resonator is supposed to tone down ur exhaust note... not make it louder...
That's why im planning for a full straight pipe of 2.5" or maybe 2"(not sure on this though, maybe the experts can help about 2" pipe) to make it louder and squeezing every last bit of power i possibly can...

Since no one said anything yet I will...

The odds that you will: get rid of a "no-cat" CEL permanently by any means other than flash tune(ie- the O2 foolers like you've linked) - is extremely low.

There are a very few people who have had success, or never had a CEL in the first place. It appears you have met one of the lucky few in this thread. But the vast majority of 8's simply will not be that easy and will require flash tune to remove the CEL. It has something to do with 1)the region and 2)very early models, that had the best chances of no CEL, or successfully removing the CEL with some "O2 fooler"

Aaahh... yes thanks for pointing those out.

So it is either a flash tune (ie, with ur chosen aftrmarket piggy ECU)
OR...
get these o2 foolers as linked on the first post...

Thanks paulmasoner
