FEED has the first modder 8 in the country. They did their testing for 4 straight months and insist on not putting turbo in the car. Their stuff are great and I particularly like their originial shocks/suspension. They are made by HKS but they have their own spring rate and damper setting.
Fujita is quite new but they are becoming popular. You can always trust RE Amemiya but their marketing is so poor that you cannot imagine hehe. No ads from them. However, they deliever the best good adn the best time for track. Their products are basic and raw, lack of sophistication, but who would say their are better rotary tuner than Amemiya san. He is the king of rotary.
Knight sport and R Magic are background player - they have been around for ages.... their product are good and reasonably priced.
Bottom line... I don't know. I love Fujita (FEED) for every thing they have. In fact I want to change my Fujitsubo (*which IMHO is the best company for exhaust) to FEED exhaust.
I will go for FEED, but expect to pay more than R Magic

It was back in 2003 during hte Super G8 project - the car that shown in this year's Tokyo Autosalon.
They initially have done the tuning + header + their dophin exhaust and get 20hp.

If you are going to Japan, get some R Magic gauge pods. Most people here would kill for them. They are a bitch to get here. If they are cheap & plentiful in Japan get some. I'm sure they would sell like hotcakes on this board.

THe gauge pod deal in Japan is a replacement price. That means that you need your ashtray one to swap for the gauge pod and it cost Y30000.... :o
If you series about it, don't forget to take the ashtray out to bring it with you hehe. :D
They are $200 each anyway. Does anyone really want it? Why not the RE Amemiya pod that goes to the sat nav area :D

$200 is a steal. here they are like $450. Never seen an RE-Amemiya one available on any of the main RX8 parts sites. PTP is making one (3 gauge top of the dash), but they are back ordered bigtime and $450 as well.

I am going to Japan in June. I basically have nothing purchased aftermarket other than white side markers. What types of parts might be great to purchase - paraphanailia? I'll be in the Tokyo/Narita area.
Also, with regard to performance, is the change out of the intake worth the money. What about the irev byRB? Thanks for your responses.

Τhe rmagic cat is a beautifull unit in look..A friend have it..Good gains also but on the street....The dynos are tricky with the 8...
Also get a trust titanium catback..You ll thank me...It is only some kg(i think only 5)and looking great and sound great and shoots some great flames...xexe..
Also Racing Beat Revi you mean..This is a Us part so better take it from here..And yes it worths the money till the last $..I ll have mine installed next week.Great part...
Also if you want handling,i love the autoexe struts etc but are heavy and i don't want extra weight in my 8...Also their autoexe mastervac brace is goin g in my car soon...
Buy some ganador mirrors for your 8...
Keep yourself away from K&n products(no just in your trip..Always!!!)
A header for sure cause i want to learn more for the gains etc...
Buy a lightweight flywheel..Maybe a mazdaspeed one..Also do some serious looking in mazdaspeed..Great parts but little pricey getting them outside Jap...
If i was going in Japan i would have at least 10000$ for shopping(no just car parts)so sorry for the list...
With a header-cat+pipe-catback-intake you ll have big difference in the car..

That is too confusing for someone starting up mate.
I think, and certainly commented by Tsuchiya that the 8 should start off with the handling mods: sway bars, strut bars, suspension and tire. It makes the big difference. Exhaust, intake and headers are great but bang for bucks really you should get the handling mods. It is proven with Autoexe's soft suspension is 1.5 sec per lap slower than Dream factory Aragosta suspension. It is despite Autoexe has intake and exhaust, the stock intake and exhaust of the Dream factory has a better run in and acceleration out of the corner.
That is my $0.02. Get coilover suspension/sway or struts.

grRX8Mazda, ive been wondering what the AutoExe mastervac brace was, can you explain it to me? it looks intresting?
i plan on doing the front and rear struts, as well as the 4 piece undercarriage...how much weight would you estimate that would add?

Which is it? TOkyo or Narita? Narita is the International Airport for Eastern Japan/Tokyo, but it's in Narita City, Chiba Prefecutre. It'll take about an hour by train to get there from most major Tokyo train stations.
What's the best stuff to get? Get your cat-back and intake from the States... price/performance is best. The RE Amemiya intake looks like *** and costs waaaay too much. The AutoExe intake looks beautiful (and was the first closed box design might I add), but it is waaaay too expensive. Bodykits will run you into shipping issues and you won't save any money... just get one Stateside. So what's worth getting? Little stuff... shifters, gauges, oil, etc. caps... stuff like that. But remember almost everything will be "made-to-order" so remember to calculate for that.
Honestly... JDM perfomance parts aren't really worth the extra money. Not from a performance stand point and cost wise... you can get them in the states for less (like GReddy and Tanabe) and you don't have to worry about international shipping.

The parts you are talking aboutt will add 22-24kg estimated...Look here:
http://www.rx8garage.net/?page=shop/...d04a&keyword=&
Auto Exe Mastervac Brace: Reinforcement between mastervac and engine room side of body, bulk head and pedal by steel pipes and plates. It composes of four pieces
So the mastervac brace will hold the brake drum from doing unessesary movement. So brake pedal will feel different and would be better when you push it...Better braking with the way of the brake pedal till the end being smaller

will it be noticable with like 6 pot brembo brake calipers, Hawk HPS pads, Brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors as well as BF Goodrich steel braided brake lines?? i dont see how this will further improve it noticably...
-edit-
and on top of that...what do you mean by brake drum?? if its the brake drum i'm thinking of i dont have em, cuz the RX-8 has rotor/caliper brakes all around...
