Gtech pro SS

Does anyone know if the new Gtch pro SS will work on the RX8? As it picks up the engines rpm's from the cigarette lighter and I have read somewhere that the 8's revs can be difficult to pick up, particularly on a dyno.

I have been looking at this myself for quite some time.

If you have any car buddies. Ask them to chip in and help you pay for it if you and that person agree to share it.

I havent read anything or heard anything about it not working with an RX8 though. So I would have to do some research before I bought one.

Check out this thread form Gtechs forums. Seems like it will work. Incidentally, I just picked up a Gen 1 Gtech of ebay for 36.00. Just to check it out. I mayget the RR version for more fun later

Yes, the G-Tech works quite well on the RX-8. The rpm sensor works by tracking the electro-magnetic signature of the ignition system. The way I calibrated my G-Tech was to set the cruise control at the rpm's suggested in the G-Tech manual and push the calibration button on the G-Tech. So far, I have gotten consistent results from the Tech by using the same stretch of road for all of my testing.
