Got this drop in filter last week and have over 200 miles on it. 8 idles as well as stocker and seems to to rev as well or better than stock just slightly louder when on the gas. the build quality and the materials used seem to be top notch as well. I was wondering if anyone has any experience or coments on this brand.

 

i've heard of it but never seen anyone using it

 

How much, and where did you find it? Is it just an OEM replacement or do they have any claims of benefit to using it?

hmmm, im guessing the KN replacement will be better than this since it gains 2-3hp

 

We are waiting for a local palce to get some in to pop them into the cars. I knowa tleast of us are waiting for them.

 

Had my green for about 1500 miles now.Seems to help it breath a bit better and is a little louder.Greens filter much better then KN.

I just got thier universal twister intake for my Isuzu Trooper, build quality is top notch as someone else posted. As for better or worse than K&N, it's basically the same technology, but with more attention to detail. It's going to cost you a few more dollars, but I think it's worth it given the fit and finish. It's supposed to filter better than K&N's too. Who know's.

This is from a staunch user of K&N products in the past.

 

I got this filter when it was first introduced. I posted about it a month ago. I've owned plenty of K&N filters in the past and this Green Filter appears to be close to K&N in comparison. One thing I noticed is that Green doesn't over oil their filters like K&N seems to. Out of the box it was much less "messy." I called Green Filter to see if there was maybe a problem with mine. They stated that K&N is notorious for "over-oiling" their filters before packaging them. Only a minimal amount of oil is necessary.

The technology of the two companies appears to be very similar and I'm sure this filter will get you the same 2-3 hp that the K&N does.

I'm just not ready to alter my stock air intake at this point. Until a proven cold air system is introduced I'm going to stick with the Green Filter.

 

I have the green filter and I cant tell any difference.

 

2-3 hp isn't going to be noticable.

 

hello guys in fron spain(europe) first escuse me for my bad english jejeje and here in europe we have de green filters for a long time ago and it looks great and work better. I have one in my Megane Coupe and in some estimations i win arround 8-10 cv i can recomend it. It's meda with better materials, it looks great, it's cheap and work realy realy good

 

alright guys, here's the lowdown on Green filter. The green and KN filter flow roughly the same amount of air per sq in but the green has a larger surface area for the air to go through. They minimize the amount of rubber surround necessary by using a stronger surround. Ive been selling green filters for over a year now and had no problems with them and actually had people swear they would never buy another KN again.. IMO, it is a better filter.... nothing against KN ( we used to sell them) but we get better customer response on the green then we ever did on KN.
I just got one for mine yesterday but when i went to install it last night i had trouble getting the airbox top off and it was late, so i just went to bed. ill try again tonight

 

i've had the green in my car for about 4000 miles. works well.

 

I have the Green but I've said in other threads it's not a miracle filter or anything. I do prefer it to the KN though No drop in is going to give you 2-3hp for this car anyways. Doesn't KN's entire intake kit barely give you that? It's more like .342 hp for the minor breathability improvement. People say it is good for 3 mpg better mileage but I'd say it's more like 1. I drive my car not too rough and get about 18 mpg without it and 19 with it.

I'm not trying to hate on the Green, it's an excellently made filter just don't expect the world from it.

Oh yeah and the filter box is a bitch to get out just pull on it really hard.

really, you just pull on it... ill mess with it tonight. you are right though, people should not expect and real gains out of a filter, any filter. I probably wouldnt mess with it but it was free so i have to put it on.... maybe ill dyno on my friends mustang dyno before and after and dispell any myths about actuall gains. Any one think that would help?

 

With how screwed up the 8 is on dyno's all you're gonna hear from everyone here is "well the second dyno was at 7 o'clock so the moon was closer to the earth and that's why you got different results" Dyno results are really iffy so for your sake don't spend the time.

Some pple claim that it somewhat performs better with the green filter compare to the stock filter. I doubt it adds any hp but it will make your car louder.. Im planning on getting the green filter as well but I want the MS front first. I was going to get an RE intake but I asked mazda if it was going to void my warranty they said yes. So I will wait until 3-4 yrs to get it. PLS STAY AWAY from K&N they're work like a POS.

 

You should get the intake anyways. All it voids is the warranty on your intake. No other part of your engine. And if for some odd reason your intake was whack than RE would send you another. Dealers are lame.

One note on the Green filter is that the only real difference I have is that when I cruise on the freeway I always go at 3500rpms (I think I heard someone on here say it's the optimal rpm's for gas mileage, if I'm wrong please tell me) and before the filter that meant I was going 68mph but now I go 69 or 70. I know whupdeedoo but it's what I noticed.

I see alot of people talking about K&N filter and idle problems--lets be clear here--there are two types of K&N: THE DROP IN FILTER AND THE TYPHOON AIR INTAKE. Idle problems are with the Typhoon intake. The drop-in filter is comparable to the Green filter and the difference between the two is negligible. There is alot of debate whether or not K&N filters are bad--honestly I have used K&N filters in every vehicle I've had and I don't have any complaints. I never heard negative comments on the filters until coming on this board--when I had my 3rd Gen the RX7 guys praised them. If Green filter is better than K&N the difference is so negligible that any difference you experience will be a placebo effect.
