Taka,

Where did you get the Fujitsubo exhaust in Australia ? It cost me about US$760 to get them in Singapore, am still waiting for the shipment to arrive in a month time. I know Fujitsubo has been making OEM exhuast for many tuners in Japan, and I know Knight Sports are using this too. Just like Borla they are well know exhuast makers in the States.

Btw, you're car is nicely done up. Keep tuning and rev it up. Cheers.

US760 is cheap... I guess it is the shipment cost more in Australia... I get it locally in a shop.

Listed price is 110000 yen, the ad in Japan go down to 89000 yen (AUD$1100). You are getting a bargin man!

You will not regret the Fuji... It is so well built you want to sleep with it!

Answer:

Excellent :D. No :o. And absolutely no .

I think it is a good exhaust. Good finish. You may not think it is loud (actually you may love it b'coz it is not) but definitely have the sport note. Good RX-7 like noise. Different taste as in the Hymee's exhaust. More like the titanium (... although nowhere close).

Yeah definately i dont like loud exausts.... i like exausts that has a good tone but not loud and definately one that doesnt drone inside the cabin. when doing highway driving....

what about 5000-9000 rpm?

Can you put a stationary video camera and record me a fly by video? :D That will give me the best idea of the exaust sound and noise.... because the videos you put up has too much wind noise the exaust tone is kinda muffled....

My local shop here is a North America Fujisubo distributor so he can get me a pretty decent price thus im having thoughts about this exaust....

he also is an Autoexe dealer and has one sitting in the showroom... Hmmmm Fuji or Autoexe?..

Even If I use the sticky pod there will be wind noise - no use...

Fuji or Autoexe... tough choice - Fuji is hand made - Autoexe may gain more PS (who knows :o)

Both are good choice depends on price

Fuji or Autoexe.... performance gains isnt really my priority anyways so it doesnt really matter..... they are both nice exausts.... i think noise level is the deciding factor... thats why im asking you about the Fuji

Not to steal your thread Taka, but...

look like my neighbor with the Ti grey 8 has just upgraded to HKS Legamax exhaust. Those 100mm tips are huge. Not bad looking, but not for me I think.

I caught only a passing glance and hear a full AutoExe car the other day (bodykit and all). It sounded mean. I personally find the look of the AutoExe exhaust to be more my style... tips aren't too large, but yet are stylish. Don't get me wrong... the Fujitsubo exhaust looks nice in your pics Taka, but I just like the tips of the AutoExe exhaust better.

I do believe the AUTOEXE only has 60mm piping.. that might be a deciding factor

The AutoExe tips are 90mm. The main pipe is 60.5mm... the FEED one is the same as are several others...

Autoexe has a brand name on it... Fuji is cleaner...

I like HKS too - but you have to lie down or jack the car up to see the beauty of it.
The size and the sound of the exhaust is not my type - just opposite the Fuji - don't get me wrong, HKS it VERY nice but you see you look for different thing in an exhaust...

All the brands we talk so far: Fuji, HKS, Autoexe, even FEED are great pipes

So whats the difference in sound your talking about btw the Fuji and HKS?

Comparing the two... HKS's tips are 10mm bigger than the Fuji?

and talking about the good exausts also dont forget about the Knightsports one as theyre done by Fuji too

The quality of sound. Fuji has a .... dry and deep noise while the HKS has a wet, more throaty noise... don't know how to describe sound ~ it is like people asking me to comment on the red wine ~ I can only say yes I like it or no I don't like it :p

I dunno... the HKS tips are just too big for me. I was checking out my neighbor's 8 with HKS and the tips are too big and stick out too much. OTherwise they look very clean and very well built.

I'd say Fujitsubo/Knight Sports, FEED and AutoExe are very good choices. Basically you can't go wrong with whichever you pick.

I have a clip from the Sandown race with my new exhaust.

Record with front window up and rear window opened.

scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the sandown.avi link

Hey Taka can you do a video of a fly-by of your 8?

just set a stationary camera and do a fly-by?

i want to compare the Fujisubo's sound to the VividRacing B&B fly-by video

Thanks

if you could also do a video in the cockpit with the windows down of clearly showing the sounds of the exaust in the 1000-4000 rpm range, and the 5000-9000 rpm range.....

that would be greatly appreciated.. :D

Sorry BIU ... you mentioned a fly by video and I should have got someone to do it for me... I email a guy on trackside to see if he has 2 seconds of the RX-8 drive by. I am now contempating making of a video of drive by on the street like a hoon :p

No BIU the window down is no good as the wind will create noise that you cannot hear the exhaust. Best is have front window shut and rear open (as in the Sandown clip)

Heard a few exhaust recently. The nismo, fuji titanium, AMUSE titanium... my Fuji is extremely quiet. Nice noise as of the Sandown clip. If you are looking for quiet sport exhaust - this is it IMO

"quiet sport exaust" hell yeah you descibed what i wanted in an exaust EXACTLY!

i want an exaust that is not too loud... no droning.... but when you start up the car you will hear it.... and under normal driving you will just hear a slight tone... and 5000+ rpm it opens up abit... but by no means like a Apexi N1 on a Civic....

is the Fuji the one?

The first command I get on my exhaust is... "nice sound and QUIET!" Also... "nice tip and not too big (3 inch right?)" ~ "it is 90mm", I reply
