their spark plug wires are on the website. you could also look into putting a high flow cat or completely remove it.

This replaces the section of pipe containing your cat. It even has a threaded port to re-install your O2 sensor. It will set off you CE light but Racing Beat says it in no way hurts the engine or performance.

I'm seriously thinking about doing this. Make sure Tennessee doesn't sniff tailpipes though.

I'd love to help whenever possible. Just like most other ppl on the forum.

but we're NOT here to babysit people. We're not your parents or guardian.

Maybe its just me, but I hate to see people come up with questions like *Hey whats the best mod for my car?*

If you cant decide something like that on your own, you shouldnt even have a car. Do the right thing and sell it.

and not to mention to very same question has been answered like 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0 times on this site. Is it really that hard to search ?

I mean come on,

i have no problem answering your question...everyone gets lazy, RB does 2 styles of flash : street, and race...im thinking around the price of $350 could be wrong, and you ship it out to them...theres an entire thread about it somewhere...good luck though...no short throw shifter?

you have a good list of parts...and nothing against Racing Beat, as I have some of their products as well...but they tend to be on the less aggressive side. But, if you have decided on their products, I am assuming that they are fitting into what you want from your 8.

The intake and exhaust can be done by yourself....the flywheel and clutch are somewhat more intensive. If you have access to someone who can help you, you will save a lot of money, money that you could then spend to get the RB flash.

I just dropped by RB this morning and they flashed two PCM's for me in 35 minutes. I'm anxiously awaiting reinstalling them tonight

well I'm not a fan of all the RB intake because it's just added plastic weight... For a second I was thinking too myself not too long ago too get Agency Power brake/clutch lines simply because I have the exhaust... But then I thought too myself how stupid it is too follow one company unless you know for a fact that the company you are investing so must trust into is better then the competition....

I've asked this question before, but where is this notion that the air intake doesn't add any hp coming from ? Maybe from a few people on the board that never had the product and it just snowballed from there ???

It has been shown in the past, not just with RB's claims of about 6 hp, but POLAK, a respected member on this board, did a write up for Rotary Tuner magazine with RX Tuner magazine, and along with the flywheel mod got a +10 hp increase. Also Import Tuner tested just the REVi part (no ram air duct) and got about 4 hp from the midrange into the upper rev ranges.

I have no idea how this notion that air intakes don't give hp increases. I've been on this board for years, and read a lot of threads, but I have yet to see someone who bought the system, and dyno tested it, and got no hp increase. I have seen some skeptics say what they "think," but it has never been backed up with a dyno.

I didn't mean too claim that an intake does nothing... I'm really not one too be fighting over what exact numbers we should be expecting either... I'm just saying that I don't like the RB intake because of all the plastic (although I'm sure it serves as a seperator for heat).

Even the K&N intake I plan on getting supposedly claims 9 hp, but I'm still a little skeptical about that... More interested on the gains we can get with an ecu after intake and exhaust...

Keep your eyes and ears open, as we are having a group dyno down here in So Cal on the 31st....I'm sure you'll be able to see numbers for a lot different setups. Dyno's will be posted, along with mod lists for the cars...this should help/or maybe confuse people on choices for performance mods.

I'm hoping to see a big difference between stock, slightly modified, and heavily modified. No turbo's have signed up yet...Fanman, you interested?

sweet, I'm excited as too all hell too see the outcome!

It confuses me not only the difference between a modified 8 and a stock one, but mostly the difference one stock 8 will have between another one.

you better start a thread in the performance section with all the info that whole situation gets

Tennesse doesnt have to sniff pipes. If you dont get an O2 sim you will throw a cel and a cel will fail any OBD-II inspections, which almost any state with emissions requirements checks. Now if tennesse doesnt have emissions period then it wont matter.

What is nice about the RB intake is... it is not aggressive loud like having an open filter.

It still adds a low growl when cranked on though.

The air duct is beneficial on hot days we tested two cars on a close to 100 degree day and found the intake temps to be 33 degrees cooler with the duct. Both cars drove the same amount of distance on the same roads at the same time. We drove about 100 miles before letting the cars sit for a half hour and then firing them up to check intake temps with the sCANalyzer (by Hymee).

I didn't know RB was into making spark plugs.

I don't think the prices you listed include shipping that can be a factor on those parts as well.

I have had great service buying items through www.Mazdaparts.com, and would lean that way even if it costs a couple of extra dollars.

Yoou are right, the plastic is there as a heat shield. There are some short ram designs that had no plastic around it, and the intake temps went up dramatically because if it.

You should be skeptical of those hp claims. K&N had an initial design for the RX8 that claimed about 8 hp, and when the people dynoed it, they found a loss in hp. The new design is supposed to be better, but 9 hp is still unrealistic, especially with the short ram design.

yeah we check down here..my friend has a Civic Si and the O2 sensor check engine light is always on and the only way he can pass emissions is by going to a car place to have them reset the computer and then make a quick drive to emissions so his computer doesnt detect it...not worth it for me
