A few ?'s about bolt-ons
A few ?'s about bolt-ons
I am basically just planning to do a very mild build. What I want out of it is better throttle response and handling...if possible. The car handles great as it is. As far as the bolt-on power adders: Is it a good idea to go intake and exhaust? Are the under-drive pulleys worth it? I read on different sites that they were gaining 9 hp from the under-drive pulley...is this true? Any other suggestions are definitely appreciated, I'm just new to the rotary game and I'm trying to learn all I can. I've been reading and searching alot, plus I picked up a copy of Street Rotary and so far it's a great read.
Thanks.
Thanks.
you wont gain but 1 or 2 from an ud pully. youll only gain minimal hp from intake, or catback, some from a catless midpipe but still not much of anything. FI is the only good way to get any kind of power but its not for amateurs as it costs a lot and requires a little know how
Yeah, our engines have very few moving parts so there isn't much to do like there is on a cylinder engine. If you want better response then I would recomend ignition, lighter flywheel, intake/exhaust and suspention to help it all translate to the ground. Anything beyhond that you need FI.
Ignition just because thats a constant weak point in these cars
light flywheel/clutch/pressure plate
cat delete
reflash tuning done by someone competent
suspension depends on what you want. you'd be surprised how different the car can be on just better shocks, sway bars, and good tires.
