Well I got it done.... It went quick once I had the right stuff.... I want to thank Ray and Chickenwafer (?spelling) for pointing me in the direction of the Exotic Speed exhaust. The fit and and finish is second to none. The kit was very easy to install and the shipping was great. I would also like to thank my daughter Katy for helping me out....

good choice though... probably best overall exhaust so far. I already melted my shrouds. Good excuse to get MS

Did you actually install that with just your jack holding up the car? PLEASE tell me you didn't...

I put the car up on four jack stands and it was pretty easy to move around under it. I had two floor jacks on each side for saftey just in case...

oh GOOD! You worried me there for a sec. I didn't want any n00bies on this forum seeing those pics and getting the idea that all they needed was a jack stand.

So how do you like the sound? Loud? too loud? any droning at highway speeds?

im confused.... is this exhaust catless? G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY i didnt see a CEL on the video where you were driving. or did you put in one of those CEL fooler things?

cel comes on after 50+ or so miles of driving w/o cat...

are the canisters round or oval???

well it says comes with a hi-flow cat but it actually came with a midpipe, kinda sucks since half the reason i purchased was to get rid of the CEL... it went off for the first bit then came on again today. I gotta check into it. It sounds pretty dang loud here are a lot of pics/vids of it soon ( im uploading now)

This exhaust is sooooo loud. I herd G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY's today and i herd him comming from a mile away.

i was looking at this exhaust, but i felt that it would be too loud for me. I need more the Mazdaspeed,Racing Beat or Greddy one.

But this exhaust looks real nice. Good luck with it.

I have not had it out on the highway as of yet... The sound sounds great to me... I guess I will find out when I take it out on the highway.. The reason why I went with the Exotic Speed is to have something that not to many people have in this area... I love the look and the sound so far.... If I wanted the stock sound, I would have stayed with the stock exhaust...

guys it is loud due to the midpipe..

some one give it a whirl with a cat on.. stock or hi flow..

hey swoope if i installed this "fooler" onto this system, and it cleared the CEL, would the dealer try to look at it when i get a compression test?

i would put the stock cat back on..

it really depends on your relationship with the dealer..

but no cat is bad. i get along great with my dealer. they let me watch my whole motor change.. never said a word about my many mods. put in a lw flywheel and stage one clutch while the motor was out.


but i did have a cat on.. hi flow one, but a cat none the less..

mods are one thing, but no cat is begging for trouble..

now that said. that is for warranty work..

if you are paying for the test.. does not matter...

Yeah.... Who wants a check engine light on... Not me.... I hate any light on the dash doesn't need to be there...

when i saw this exhaust i thought about the agency power exhaust. anyone know if there's a similarity?

btw,

few have made foolers work.. yet some dont get a cel without a cat... it takes me 18 miles to get a cel without a cat..

a fooler is not going to fool a tech working on your car...

I just got done driving the loop out at Red Rock and had a great time... Holly loud batman!!!! It is very loud and on the freeway it is even louder..... I talked with the guys at the front gate of the loop and they gave me a hard time about how loud it was... They said they could hear me the whole time I was doing the loop.... I am going to look for a high flow cat today... I hope the will take it down a little....

you should do a sound clip of it now so you can compare it afterwards. (once you get the high flow cat)

I also observed this in the first exoticspeed thread. It's identical with my exhaust, the only difference is that the tips are more purplish compared with Agency Power ones. But everything else looks the same!

MX, don't forget that once we install your turbo kit that exhaust note will quiet down a LOT. You can still get a high-flow cat just the same but with all that and a turbo you'll be back down to fatory-type dB levels, only a better sound. You'll still also have that same power level we discussed.

It is quite possible that the manufacturer of the ExoticSpeed exhaust also manufactures systems for several other brands, too. The ExoticSpeed mufflers have the company name stamped in them.

yea, that's what i was thinking. they look exactly the same except for the tips and stamped name.

so we are saying that exoticspeed = agency power with different tips?

I believe what's being implied is that it is possible that they are the same but my opinion is that such a thing isn't necessarily bad.

And like Ray said, keep in mind the turbo will quite down your exhaust significantly. It's basically a giant muffler in your exhaust, so the noise will come down.

OK... Ray I need a turbo fast....:lol: I have been driving it a lot today and I am starting not to notice it.... I do love the way it sounds and it looks great..... I went back to the loop and drove it for about 2 hours about 10 laps or so....

YES!!!! I smoke very car out there in the turns... The 8 has great corner speed and drives where you point it... The up hill straightaway kills me... I get passed there every time.... I was driving with two WRX and three STI's... I could pass them in the turns and smoked them in the off cambers.... The straightaways kill me every time.... So hurry :lol:

Let's see; you need more power so Jeff, Dave, and I are supposed to hurry the project up? I can think of a better motivation that would include ALL my products.........$$$$$$$.

The honest truth is that if we worked any faster on any of the BHR product something would probably get messed up. Although I have yet to make my first dollar I am somewhat satisfied with the pace of things, for now.

does Exotic Speed have a website? i think i'm going to buy their header and if so, then i may nix the Turbo XS exhaust and get their exhaust.

I love it... Sounds great and looks even better.... It's a little on the loud side, but I have heard a lot louder... If I were to do it all over again, I would buy the same system... I am very happy with it.... Plus no one in my circle has it...
